Trade in value.

Well guys, I think I'm making the move and trading in the LT for the SS/SC. Do you guys have any idea of how much I would get for a trade in? I don't want to lose too much money with the trade, and the car only has 18k miles and is in mint condition.

Do you guys think it's worth taking the hit for the money? I'm thinking about hooking up my car totally and even getting an after market supercharger and putting it in ... or maybe even a turbo. I just don't want to be foolish and take the blow for the money.

you could turbo the 2.2L, but you gotta build the motor up first.

I took the hit! But I could afford the hit. If you can afford it, then you might want to consider it. Hey I always say, take it and find out what they would give you on it! The worst thing you can do is nothing!

Yeah, your right. I think I might ask them tomorrow when I bring the car in for the recall work.

personally, i think you can get a good deal if you sell it. im thinkin of sellin mine to a friend who's offering 8-9,000. mines 06 with 17,500 miles mint condition. cant drive it cuz im stuck in iraq lol. plus i remember seein a guy looking to buy a used Cobalt LS/LT for 7-9. if the SS/SC can only get about 10 for a trade in... dont wanna know what its like for the LS/LT lol. check the dealer and see what they offer. good luck!

go to www.nadaguides.com and look at the trade-in value. That will give you a good idea of what it is worth.

i would expect to get about 8 or 9,000 max. how much do you owe? let's use imaginary numbers, and you can fill in the real ones so it applies more.

1) You bought the car for 15,000
2) Trade in will give you 8,000
3) You've paid 2,000

This puts you 5,000 in the hole already.

4) ss/sc 20,000
5) plus the 5,000
6) = 20,000

now you have to again pay financing on that 25,000.

depending on the numbers, it could be better or worse. but without knowing the #'s, and what you can afford, nobody can tell you if it's worth it.

In general, i would probably expect your payments to be close to double what they were, and your insurance will go up as well.
