This is my first post so I hope i dont screw anything up but I have to know the answer to this.

I have contacted a local dealer just as a price check on the stage 2 kits for my Cobalt, for the parts and labor. This is what I got back from one of the guys.

STAGE 2 KIT 750.00 + LABOR MUST ALSO HAVE STAGE 1 KIT FIRST 500.00 + LABOR
UPGRAGE KIT FROM 1 TO 2 400.00 + LABOR

Is this correct, that I need the stage 1 first? Then the stage 2 can go on?

I know nothing about cars so please help!!!

Welcome to the site No, you can go right to Stage 2. That upgrade kit is only for those who already have Stage 1 and want to go up to Stage 2.

WWWilly is correct. You can buy the Stage 2 directly. Contact Crate Engine Depot, one of the supporting vendors on this site. He can sell you the direct stage 2, probably at a better price. You're still on your own for getting it installed however.
