Is This True?

Just a little info first. My SS/TC is at 22,000km and I'm getting the oil changed today. The service advisor told me that GM recommends changing the fuel filter..... AT THAT MILEAGE? I said no, but I'm wondering if that is true, or if the dealer is trying to screw me out of my money.

Fuel filter is recommended every 30,000 miles usually.

That and the fuel filter really isn't hard to change, so I wouldn't pay for a dealer to do it.

They didn't say for labour, but they said it would be about $100 for the filter.

SS/TC has a non servicable fuel filter in the tank.

So this is a non-issue and the service manager doesn't know what he is talking about.

^^ what he said

Even if they mistakenly believed it to be a SS/SC (like i did), the fuel filter can be found for less than $40 and and it's 1 bolt and 3 disconnect lines.

Either way the dealer is wrong.

Ok. That's good to know. Glad I said don't do it.
