Trunk Release Compartment

I've had that little compartment break twice already..by break I mean not close properly...The first time I brought it to the dealer it took over 2 hours to fix as the trim guy explained he had to remove the entire piece of plastic below the steering wheel to correctly fix it...

Now it won't close properly again and i'm not looking forward to pissing away another 2 hours...anyone else have any trouble with it?

Ive pulled the upper part of mine out a couple of times by hitting it with my knee... Both times ive been able to get it back in myself by sliding the pins/guides back in to place... Although ive noticed from ripping it out that the part of it thats built in to the underdash panel is starting to become damaged and another accident with the knee and it may need a new low dash piece.... hopefully its warranty !

I have an 05 and have been relatively gentle with it..(minus one good knee bashing).

Regardless, it is a pain to fix, and to do it properly, you need to remove the lower dash..

He Hee I've done it twice already too,

Jaded if you look closely you'll see it's easy enough to snap in your self. it helps if you squeeze the bottom end of the door when you put it in

I've had my SS/SC for two days and I already have a glove compartment door rattle . I'm not surprised. I came to expect this from GM anyway. Other than that, I can sum up this car in one short 3 letter word...WOW!!!
