turbo questions
I have been thinking about turboing my ss/sc and getting rid of the s/c obviously. my question is exactly what I would need to do to swap out and put the turbo into it. I have most of the info I would need, like tubo, intercooler, new rods, and pistons, turbo timer. is there anything else I would need to swap it out? please don't get on me if I posted this in the wrong section or if it has already been brought up I tried searching for it and found nothing. go easy on me I'm not 100% Knowledgeable on turbos. I'm looking to get hp to around mid 300's, get back at me with your advice and information thanks guys

honestly man if it was me i wouldnt mess with a turbo. or i would wait until one of these vendors finally develops a kit. dont remember if one has as i have not been on for a while. if you get your balt to mid 300hp your talking about some pretty extensive work in order for the car to be able to safely handle it (drivetrain wise). i guess im just partial to the sc, and with the mods floating around for our cars already you can still have a cobalt that "aint no punk" without going turbo. what a bunch of n0oBs.....if you really want to go turbo, than do it. the car will handle 300-350 hp with hardly any problems considering you dont beat on it. the clutch can take it, the rods can take it, even the pistons can take it. its all how you drive it. some wil;l say this isnt true, but has been proven a few times. if you really want to be safe get a new clutch and build the motor.

right now I'm just thinking about it, I don't know if i will do it or not. as far as trading it in for a tc I've already put some mods on my car now and don't feel like taking them all off and putting the stock ones back on, and then going through the whole dealership thing, plus I had lo jack put in my car so i don't want to pay more money to put it in my other one. as far as you 05chevycobalt. please if you don't have any positive input please refrain from posting anything the reason why I'm on here is so I can learn to do these things myself. and this is the only time I will comment on that. if anyone else has any input please post it up, as long as its helpful. thanks

Waldo... like it was said previously the lsj is a forged bottom end so it will hold the power (300~350 hp) not to mention the fact that they hold a good shot of Nitrous also (thats neither here nor there just alil FYI) but anyways like everyone said Hahn has their turbo kits done and tested etc and their out for sale... i was thinking bout doin a conversion myself but money is a big factor on why i havent done mine yet or it would have been done....
but definatly check out Hahn's site
http://www.turbosystem.com/ProjectVe...ent%20Page.htm
thats a direct link to the page w/ their kits

hey thanks sniper I appriciate it, I checked it out and yeah the money is pretty crazy about 5K thats a lot of money. I'll have to wait till after my next deployment lol, but it will put me at about 360 hp which is a nice jump up from what I have now. and not to mention I've only heard of a few cobalt s/c getting to 300 let alone 360. there is only so much a sc can do. anyway I'll def. look into it, I may be doing it with in the year
