The turbo timer allows you to turn the key to the off position, take it out and leave the car. The car will remain running for as long as you set the turbo timer for so you dont have to sit in your car for x minutes while it idles to cool the turbo.

I had one in my old Evo but I bought a harness for it and I haven't even looked to put it in the SS.

My friend is getting it in his SRT-4 soon. Now is it possible for someone to break into your car and take it with the turbo timer running? Always wondered this...

Alright i tried to have a Turbo Timer installed on my g5 and its a no go with out a bypass. This was almost 10 months ago so its not exactly clear what the issue was. What i remember is that with the turbo time installed the car thought it was being "Stolen" so it would not leave the car on, when i took it to the audio shop they said they need to install a bypass because of something to do with the stock alarm system and how its wired.

Again sorry for being so vague but thats pretty much the run down.

Ahh...Gotcha.......How much better is it for the Turbo? Just prolong the life of it?

Pretty much. It allows time to let the turbo cool down and not let the oil cake up inside the turbo.
