Since ass lips trumped everything I was working on by starting this thread, here are some of my Ideas if we can pull this together:

I wanted to get the after market involved, even if GM wanted to rent booths to vendors or something of the sort. Even get the GM performance division out there to see what we have been doing to our cars close up and consider adding to their line of bolt-on upgrades (i.e. tubular headers, replacement cluster bezels with additional gauge locations, etc...)

I already have buy in from the mayor of the town and have started contacting people I know in GM (mostly low level since I used to work for a Ford plant ) Any assistance in contacting GM would be helpful.

My plan to sell the concept would be as a show of loyalty from the consumers and leverage GM to consider this as a marketing tool to get them to open their wallet a little.

I envisioned regional gathering points across the country that people could meet up and cruise together. Anyone coming from the west coast would have about a two-two˝ day ride and I know this is an issue (sorry I didn't pick the location for the plant) but I thought we could seek assistance from GM for some sort of corporate discount for lodging. Most if not all major corporations have some sort of these types of agreements and if we can utilize those types of discounts we can help out our west coast brothers and sisters. Above and beyond the members of this and other forums I thought GM looking at this as a marketing event could use their mailing lists from sales records to send out invitations en mass...

I would figure a Saturday event would be the most logical and would love to see if we could have them pull together a tour/meet and greet with the employees (doubtful but wtf worth a shot...)

These were things I was considering, what are your thoughts?

I work for a pretty big dealership here in Az and one of the big reps from GMPP comes in all the time. I even worked the booth at the world of wheels show in Phoenix. I will mention this to him next time he comes in unless someone is already in contact with someone in GMPP.

Strange we haven't heard from COBALTlove yet...... I hope it was just an oversight as was mentioned earlier.
