Urgent Coil-Pack Question

Hey guys,

So, I have a coil-pack issue with cylinder 1.

The last time I changed my plugs (a month ago), I noticed the cylinder 1 coil-pack was jacked up. And also throwing a CEL for cylinder 1. Basically, the shaft that connects down onto the top of the plug was "disconnected" from the actual coil-pack top part. I don't know if it's a loose boot (that it slides into / turns into) or a bad shaft thing, or if the whole thing is messed up?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Can you buy just the boot separately? Or try a new shaft? Or do I need a whole new coil-pack altogether? If so, can I buy a used one, or do I need to buy new? I don't like replacing just one of something.. And how much if I do need to?

Thanks!

What's wrong with the coil pack you call 'jacked up'? I have some spare LSJ ones, but I think they're different.

Do you have to go to the dealer to buy said boot? Do these frequently go bad? Does it sound like that's my issue since it's loose? How much are these? Thanks!!

not thread jack intended

Im having the same issue, im having cylinder one misfire, haven't checked the boot out specifically but i have ruled out everything thing else that could be causing a cylinder one misfire. I went to the local autozone and the boot for my 2.4 is like 20 bucks. im taking it the dealer tomorrow seeing as how it's still under warranty, and i will be sure to post up a fix if it gets resolved tomorrow.

So you actually can buy this said boot at a general parts store, and you don't just have to go to the dealer? Could you post a picture of said boot? I can tell you if it's the right thing.. Mine's loose it seems like, and the "shaft" slips out of it.

Yeah lol It still has all the Plastic, So i really see no point in cleaning when all you see is plastic. Once i get an intake then i can really shine under the hood.

Yes, the guy in the middle with the "lines" on it. That what you got at the local parts store for under 20 bucks?

I don't need the whole thing though.. Just the boot. If there's no way of getting "just" the boot, I'm gonna try to fix it myself first..
