um... the 2003 vette was the 50th anniversary. It has never had the SS because SS is for a performance version of the car. the corvette was meant to be the best of the best, with no need for a performance model. obviously there have been a lot of over the top cars, the 69 ZL-1, 91-93 ZR-1, 96 gran sport, recent Z-06 cars, etc.

thats the reason for there never being an SS corvette. Eventhough it would be fitting to call the z06 (and the others) an SS.
