It revs 1.4-1.5k for like a thirty seconds then idles at 1.1k rpm @ about 100*coolant temp. I drive off easy throttle and never over 3krpm untill fully warmed up.

When I was driving the Cobalt as a daily, I'd leave when the coolant was about 85*. Then again I had a good 30-40 minutes of driving before I was on a road where I could go above 40mph.

Modern engines are ready to go when there is full oil pressure. Which is only after a few seconds. Im not saying hit full boost right out of your driveway, but there is no need to let the car idle for 2 minutes before moving the thing. The high rpms at startup are to warm up the cat, not the engine.

This.

I wait til about 100 coolant then ill drive off. I shift <3000 RPM's until about 150ish and then I let her get into boost.

yea, it should be fine to drive cold as long as you're easy on it until it's warm. the manual doesn't even ask for a warm up period, it just says to be careful when it's cold. I used to wait until the coolant is 70
