Modern cars can start and drive just fine. I love the people who let it idle for like 30 minutes then get in and just beat on it. So concerned about the engine and ignore everything else.
I love the ones that will drive around normally and then park the car and let the "turbo cool down" for like 5-10 mins idling lmao

Personally, I get in, start the car, admire the RPD turning on, connect my iPhone to the USB cable, turn on pandora, put on seatbelt and drive..... So what about 1-3 mins warm up

Turn the key. Let it chime and do its thing. Start it. Let it warm up till the rpms drop to 800 or whatever below 1k

i thought that the sounds from the rear of the car was the evap system or something? your talking about when it sounds like someones knocking on the trunk right?

as for that marble dropping sound, my car does it when i turn it off accompanied by a high pitch electronic whine, then the "marble" drops twice :P

I get the knocking sound every now and then. normally right after i turn it off it will do 3 quick little knocks. My dad walked by the car one time when it did that and he was like wtf! lol

For letting it warm up the g5 is parked in a garage and I dont drive it in the winter. If i take it out and its cooler that day Ill start it let it warm up for a few min then ill go but take it easy till there is no more smoke coming from the exhaust.

a turbo timer is only really necessary if you beat on your car then immediately turn it off. If you do some normal driving for say a minute before hand or so, it will be just fine. Otherwise, you're just wasting gas, the car isn't gonna get much cooler while idling.

In all reality, as long as you leave the car sit for 15-30 seconds to get some oil flowing through it, it should be fine to drive normally. Just don't beat on it until it's fully warmed up.

The first time I heard that "rat-tat-tat" sound in the back of my car, I got ready to get out with my ice scraper brush and beat someone with it for f*ckin' with my car. It literally sounds like someone is thumping their fingers on the trunk lid. As for warming up the car, I just start it and go. With today's computer controlled engines, there's no need to waste fuel warming it up before you go. I get irritated with people that live around me that have loud exhausts. They just sit there idling and revving their engines, waking me up before the sun rises. In the winter, I warm my car up enough to defrost my windows and get any snow off. Once my windows are clear, I'm gone. I'm actually considering purchasing an electric heater to help clear my windshield so I'm not wasting fuel waiting for my engine to warm up.

once rpms settle to normal idle, between 100-20*. Of course coolant down here in summer can sit at 110 during the day.

It's so hot here that the car doesn't even do the cat warm up cycle.

Exactly. 50% throttle no boost until 140. Even then, just wait until 160* if you can.

I'm on E85 so I kinda gotta let the car warm up to about 100* or it just falls on its face. LOL
