Warranty Experiences

so yeah... WHEN something goes wrong with my car, i've got two years left on the warranty...but i'm modded. tuned. and some bolt ons.

what have people's experiences with warranties been when you are or are not modded? cause i can't really put my stock exhaust back on even if i wanted to....

i'm just curious to what people have come across. thanks!

Depends on the problem. I had no issues getting my sunroof adjusted or rear brakes replaced under warranty. I took the car in told them the problem. They said we will look at it and see what's wrong. If its a warranty problem its free. If not its gonna cost this much to check and we will let you know for the repair.

If the problem is related to your mods don't count on it being covered.

Really depends on the dealer. I've seen people on here have severe problems after mods and everything gets taken care of without a problem. Then some dealers hassle you over little things. Just read something earlier today that a dealership that someone had gone to gave this person fits about warranty because of a K&N drop in filter. I personally have no use for any of the dealers I've ever been to because they have all tried to screw me

Its hit or miss, I try not to take my car to the dealer to get something fixed because as someone stated above...they try to screw you. The ONLY Thing I had to get fixed was my seatbelt sensor because it needed a tech2 to scan and then replace. oh and a new ECM flashed so I can run E47

i've had plenty of problems getting warrantly work done even with a completely stock vehicle. i stopped going there. it's not worth my time to let a bunch of jacknuts screw up my car. id rather pay for the parts, have it get done 10 times faster, and have it done right by doing it myself.

there is a very rare case where sometimes ecm parameters need to be reset or if it requires a special gm tool where i will take it to the dealer.
