Weird noises....

So, I have 2 weird noises - well one noise and one vibration.

The first noise is like a metal on metal squeak from the backseat area and the second vibration is when I'm on the throttle coming from under the front seats somewhere.

Anyone have this before or know of some problem areas I can check?

The first noise is normal for rear suspension break-in. Mine did that for about the first thousand miles,, then stopped completely. Then when I added the rear tie bar it did it again, but then I re-installed it with rubber washers and no probs since.

You'll hafta describe the vibe a lil more though. is it under all conditions,,, only in certain RPM ranges etc. There is typically some vibration on the 1-2 shifts with all stock suspension,,, and lower RPM vibes are normal as well.

I have those exact same noises coming from my car. I got rid of the vibe under throttle by getting under the car and tightening all the bolts on the exhaust (where the downpipe meets the header/where the down pipe meets the mid pipe). I'm guessing you've put on an aftermarket exhaust system...just tighten everything down...those bolts seem to rattle loose pretty easy. the metal-on-metal squeak I'll have to check on some more...maybe reinstall the springs like was said. hope it helps.

I'll get a more indepth look on the viberation. I am all stock except Stage 2 and a CAI. The squeak is bloody annoying tho, I can't stand that! I have 5k miles, just turned it today.

Hmmmm, weird. I know the squeek you're talking about because it drove me nuts too. But I just turned 4k on my ride, and the squeek has been gone since right around 1k.

As for the vibes,, I'm probably a bad one to ask, as I have already done the trans mounts and the torque brace,,, so you could say I'm used to some vibration

My dome light (no sunroof) used to make a rattling noise, but I took care of that problem real quick with strategic use of electrical tape.

Try opening the trunk and giving the sub a firm whacking..... I had the same squeaking noise FOREVER that was due to my poorly mounted sub in the back, I heard the same noise when i pushed/whacked it a little. Let the dealer know and they should fix it.

I located the weird noise to the seat latch or seat. I put some electrical tape on the seat latch to see if that would fix the problem - it seemed to for a bit, but now it is squeaking again. It has to be in the latch it self.

Now, the vibration - I only got it once more at a lower RPM (2000-3000) through second/third gear. I am still trying to recreate that to post up exactly what is going on with it.

I have a similar problem. I have a clanking noise which to me sound like a small metal tag hitting another metal part which seems to be coming from somewhere near the front driverside wheel. Took it to the dealership and they said it was the hubcaps. I just got rims and it still does it. Also seems to happen more often when it is windy out. I think it might be the wiring harness for the ABS but havnt tested that idea so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Also with the new rims I get a heavy vibration in the steering wheel right around 55mph and then braking when i reach the 30mph range the pedal starts to vibrate as well as the steering wheel slightly. I think this may be caused by not having hubrings installed yet or poor balancing from the the tire place. Last but not least, this i dont know if it did before the new wheels or not but i just noticed one of the rear drum brakes is squeeking when braking and seems to its only catching in one specific area. Again, any ideas i will look into. Thanks

Canada Check top corner where the fender end by the windsheild !

I had the phantom glove box or a pillar rattle vibration finally tracked it down to being the top of the fender rattling on the A pillar at speed. It looks like the pad they put behind the fender to hold that part from vibrating came loose.
A slight pull on this area will verify this and I notice on mine the paint is wore where it was hitting metal on metal.
Glad I found it ,it was driving me crazy.
