What did you pay for your 2010 SS Coupe?

Ok, I'm new here, and I must say that so far, I REALLY like my new Victory Red Cobalt SS Coupe

When I found out that there were only 14 Cobal SS Coupes left in the country, I drive to the nearest dealer that had one (1.5 hours away), and purchased it. The model I got has just about every option, including the sport pedals, and the "smokers kit". I made sure that the car had the "limited-slip differential.

What I paid. I got the car for $200.00 under invoice, with $1000.00 rebate, and $1000.00 loyalty cash ( I also own a 2000 Cavalier with a gazillion miles).

My cash price was: $ 22,858.00 out the door.

Is that a good deal? Can anyone beat that? Let's see what you paid (don't include your down payment) Tell us your agreed purchase price!

That seems like a good deal seeing as the 10's come with every option from the factory except LSD . On the 09's for instance .... the rpd , sunroof and usb radio were all options ...... like my 09 for example only has LSD and USB so i got out the door for $20,223 . I bought mine in may of 09 and got an amazing deal (over 4K off sticker) because GM was in limbo .... it was bought literally a week before GM declared bankruptcy and the dealer was trying to move inventory .

I got an 09 SS sedan after $1000 down payment, $2000 trade-in, $2500 dealer incentive, $750 company incentive, the loan with taxes titles and tags was for $20,400. then I found out the car had 400 miles on it when they claimed it had 30miles on it.. they took off another $100.

sooo $20,300.

monthly payment of $379.98 and insurance is $515 every 6 months.

EDIT: I think these threads are a reoccurring theme OP. lol. Theres probably like 9 of them in the data base if you used the search feature.

My 2010 Cobalt SS/TC was $24K out the door. Clarify your question. Before all the taxes, titles, commission, etc, I paid $22K and some change. The sticker price was $25,255 or something like that. Came with RPD, USB, sunroof, low rise spoiler. I got 0% financing for 60 months though. No gap insurance or extended warranty. $400 a month car payment and ~$65 a month for insurance, but I have a $1000 deductible (Remember where I live ).

I suspect there area alot less 2010's than 2009's out there;
so I'll post up here to help you see what people paid.

For the record the total production of 2009 coupes (for Canada & USA) is 3,040.
(sedans come in at 759)

I have not been able to nail down total 2010 SS production yet.

My car was built as a full option car, after the RPD became available to Canada, and before the high rise was deleted from the options list, or yellow was dropped from available colours;

Sticker on my car was (iirc) $29,600.

IIRC 2009 Canadian Cobalt SS/base MSRP came in at $24,500, not including destination charge;
this would have been a car with:
  • AM/FM/CD/aux input deck
  • solid roof
  • small spoiler
  • analog boost gauge
  • non-LSD

I bought mine last February (so nearly half way into the 2010 model year), I got nearly mine for hair over $21k (iirc 21,400) ~ the dealer had another one like mine, w/o high rise or RPD, and offered it for $20,998 (I have this in email from the sales manager).

2009 SS sedan, still brand new (had 75mi of test drives on it).

Fully loaded, no LSD (and I honestly don't care - I can handle torque steer just fine).

$17500.

I know how to buy a car.

Sold as new, no demo.

Went like this:

showed them internet price at competing dealership for a 2010 coupe for 19849...

Haggled a bit more, because I wasn't looking for a sedan at the time (now I can't imagine not having it)...

GM coupon from GM card for 1500...

Credit union discount for 250...

Then the only bank that would buy the loan (Wells Fargo Dealer Services) said my payments couldn't be more than 350/mo, and it was up to the dealership to make it work, so they ate a bit more to seal the deal.

Tada! 17500.

I've since given them some business on the service side, a bit in the parts dept, and sent my sales guy(s), the loan girl, the service manager, and the tech to some events that I get tickets for, to show my appreciation.

Now we have a VERY good relationship...not to mention the company I work for has already had them do some custom Camaro work for various things.

So yeah, good times.

[edit] Just looked, window sticker is long gone, sorry. IIRC, it was like 23500 or so. At least 23k.

They only had my sedan SS, and a white 2010 coupe SS on the lot. This was May 2010.

Unfortunately I paid sticker for mine which was $26,240. The reason was because the 2010's just came out when I got mine. I bought my car on Halloween of 2009 and my car was built some time in October so it wasn't even a month old when I got it. Also, the only dealership around that had a fully loaded Crystal Red SS was in Goshen, NY which is where I bought my car. I was kinda bummed cuz like two weeks after I bought my car I found one on cars.com only 70 miles away identical to my car for only $23,000. Oh well I'm over it now.

i believe that in every sense of the word, the 2010's are carry overs;
If you don't recall, 2009 was slated to be the last year;
I believe that GM cited their financial problems, as cause for delaying the Cruze for a year, and only because of delaying the Cruze did the Cobalt get offered as a 2010.

aside from the black deck, I would be surprised to hear a single thing changed betwwen 09's and 10's (electronics wise ect)...

Yep .... it was an option in 09 . The 2010's come loaded ..... the only factory option is limited slip . The others are dealer installed options. I would imagine chevy loaded em up to use the remaining stock of sunroof's and rpd's they had left.

I heard that in 09 not many dealers ordered their cobalt ss turbo with the RPD option because they really didn't know what it was and didn't want to drive the price higher! Then in 2010 they have soooooo many left that they had to get rid of them so they made them standard! And cause they were all out of boost gauges or at least a lot less

yes sir - but not that many were ordered with them;

Although they were offered from the beginning of the 2009 model year, for some reason, Canadian cars were not allowed to be ordered with them till somewhere around December 2009/January 2010 (iirc).

My car is indeed a 2009, and has the RPD.

IIRC the RPD wasn't exactly a cheap option either... then again the sunroof was an $1,100 option (for Canadian customers that is)...

To further spell out, I'll list the changes between the onset of the 2009 model year, and the onset of the 2010 model year;

1) By the third quarter of the 2009 model year, both yellow exterior, and the high rise spoiler were removed from the options list.

2) By the fourth quarter of the 2009 model year, the XM/USB deck became standard fare.

With the onset of the 2010 model year the following changes* were made;
(* = applicable to SS)

Deletions:
  • SS Sedan
  • Sport Red Tintcoat exterior colour
  • Ebony/Gray interior
  • Ebony/Red interior
Additions:
  • Reconfigurable Performance Display now standard
  • Power Sunroof now standard
  • Limited Slip Differential now standard (Canada only)
  • Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat (extra cost) made available.

So essentially the Canadian 2010 SS are all fully loaded (year end) 2009 coupes;
The USA cars are very much the same, except the LSD (RPO: G85) remained an option.

I did the "build your car" feature many times over the 2009 model year... I might even have a half dozen of them printed off at home.

Yep for us in the U.S . Canada were prolly different but I'm surprised they offered SS turbo's with a 17" wheel option.
