Haha well I'm going to be doing a compression test and leak down test soon let's see what's the condition of the engine. It should be fine I tested the compression a few months back and it was all good. But now that I was told blue smoke came out I have to check everything If not LDK it shall be might get the 7163 with it while I'm at it haha

That sucks. That makes two of us smoking lol. I don't think I'm going to mod any further if mine is needing a rebuild already.

Was thinking about going E85 with this SC setup, which means I would need some 80# injectors. I have 60s with my kit but I don't think they'll work.

What's your guys thought on running E85 on a SC setup with a 2.6 and cooling mods?

^smaller isnt always better pulley wise. Especially with an m62. Creates lots of heat. Personally i would be content with a 2.8.

There's an eaton post floating around that says under 2.8 can create more heat than it's worth with the HP gains, https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...n-guide-95307/ if you want to check it out,

Larger pulley and rev her out. Just make sure you have the supporting mods for high rpm operation.

The smaller pulleys are good for gaining torque.

While they still gain hp, it is minimal due to heat generation.

So I did a compression test again today. Numbers were 160-155-165-155. This is down from the last time I did it, which IIRC was 175-180psi about six months ago. Also the #3 spark plug had oil on it. Not ure what to make of this. Bad valve seal?

Pulled the dash to lessen racecar rattles, and made this while I was at it.

Thanks for the info guys. So what is the smallest pulley you'd go with for optimized gain yet keeping the heat down 2.7 or 2.8?

keep in mind I will have option b, dual pass, and a ZZP h/e

After doing some reading up on the M62 I have decided what I'm gonna do...

- mild port and polish on the inlet
- small port on the outlet
- leave the silencer holes open
- switch to a 2.8 pulley

I believe with the cooling mods and other supporting mods I should be able to see a good amount of power. Especially if I decide to go E85...

Do you guys think it's better to swap the kit on and tune for 93 to get the car going, and then switch to E85? OR should I just do it all at once...

I had an 04' GTO give me a ricer flyby this morning on my way to work.

Prob gave the fly by, because I passed him due to him driving like a grandma in the passing lane.

I fully respect the 05'-06' GTO's but a stock 04' GTO can kiss my butt. I actually have a hard time even considering them GTO's. My dad has the real deal GTO. 1965 Tri-power.

Those bloated Cavalier GTO's were a major let down, minus the awesome LS2 found in the 05'-06' cars.

Wow Staged, never seen anyone so passionate about the difference between LS1 v. LS2! Sure it's not as good, but "respect" vs. "kiss my butt"?? Do you need a snickers bar?
