Hi Im thinking about getting a ss cobalt but i want a chevy xtreme but don't know what should i get i been told i already had the truck u should be different and get a car but i don't know what to do

Chevy xtreme???? are talking the blazer xtreme or the s-10 xtreme? Are looking for performance or looks in a car. What do you want from a car? It would not be a difficult transition from a xtreme to a car since the xtreme packs are so far from the original intent of the vehicles. Either way I think you would want to look at the Cobalt. Look at the sedan if your looking for economy/family minded vehicle. Lokk at the ls coupe for some performance with looks and nice interior. Look at the SS/sc for true performance vehicle. If your looking for the performance and you don't want the manual trany look at the 06 SS comming this fall with an auto trany

 

Well its hard to say, since those vehicles you mentioned are in completely different classes. You kind of have to decide for yourself what you need, if you need the utility of a pickup you should probably go with that, but if you just want a performance vehicle go with the Cobalt SS.

Personally I would never buy an S10. They are extremely dated, the basic design has been around for over 20 years. The engines are also nothing special, and the interiors are pretty crappy as far as new vehicles go. If you want a pickup, go with the Colorado IMO. Much better interior, new engines, overall just way better quality and much more refinement. I believe there is even a sport model that is comparable (better) than the old S10 Xtreme, its a really good looking truck IMO, and I'm sure its fun with the Inline-5 manual trans model

So basically you have to decide what exactly you want and what you really need, and then perhaps we can help you decide

Thanks people Its a colorado xtreme they look nice but i want a sport car i just been told that u don't buy new cars wait for two years but chevy been spending alot of money on the cobalt ss on tv they look nice but i haven't seen the inside of the car 205hp is a lot for a first time sport car guy lol the colorado xtreme wants way to much money for them are they built better then the s10 or something lol? thanks archplsm

 

Hey.. I'm in the exact same boat...

I'm not allowed to get a supercharged car because I'm too much of an ******* basically. lol I dunno.. I suppose my parents don't trust me with it. So it is between the Coupe and the Colorado Z71 Ext Cab... And I dont know which I should go for.. any further opinions? I really am not biased on either side.. For what it's worth, the GF says I'd look cute in a truck.. lol What are your thoughts? Noooo you guys.. I don't mean what you think I'd look cuter in!

 

i have a s10 its paid off i had it since 97 getting tired of it. that was a good truck for me in high school it was brand new back in the day i been looking at cobalts, 350z's and everything. for the money the cobalt ss sounds nice and american made

 

u should look into the colorado xtreme they look much nicer then colorado 4x4 well i have a lowerd s10 i like lowerd trucks lol my dad wants me to get a 350z but we just called alstate its going to be high lol so im thinking about the cobalt ss if i didn't have an truck already i go with the colorado xtreme but thats my style lol good luck

 

i saw just a sport extended cab version of the colorado the other day and it was lowered and i have to say...it looked HOT. if you go to my CAS thread there is a colorado on the floor, but you cant see the front of it cause another car is blocking the view...

I have a 2003 S10 Xtreme. I had a 2001 S10 Xtreme before that. The S10 was a good truck and if the Colorado is a good truck only time will tell.

 

I just test drove a base red coupe today and i must say, its much nicer than a cav is. However, i decided a cobalt probably isnt for me, but i gotta still drive an SS first. For $25 grand, theres lots of choices with larger engines, and its making me lean toward a Colorado Z71 even more (not into lowered suv's and trucks at all). Im not dissing the Cobalt at all, i think its an awesome looking car and i have been in love with it from day one, but now im glad i didnt order one before test driving, because i can see that i want something a little larger, engine wise, and just plain larger car.

I think the best thing you can do is explore your options and test drive several different cars before you select the one you want.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the dealership i was at hopes the SS to be in their show room in 3 to 4 weeks. They also didnt seem to much about teh seats, they believe the colored seats are the only option...... They did verify the 2.4L SS, but they said they dont think Chevy will market it as an SS, it will just be a Cobalt, dubbed LT or something to this effect since it is not supercharged. It will be auto only, and have the same body kit (groud effects etc the SS has).

The one thing that bugged me most, was the absence of an armrest. From looking at pictuse of where the button is on the auto shifter, i knew i was going to hate it, but i actually really liked the location of it.

 

I for got about the saturn sky its gm too it has 170hp 162 ft lbs of torque 2.4l 16 valve it be out in 06 so summer of this year but i kinda like the looks of the car and car and driver said nothing wrong with the car im 22 years old i dunno what kind of car i want but i change my mind every week lol im in the market for a new one its going to be in the $20,000 market too as the cobalt the same price hmmmm

 

I vote for the Cobalt I'm car biased :P

 

I saw Cobalt SS...if you've already had/have a truck and you might be getting tired of it then get a 'balt...you can always lease it and get rid of it in a few years.

I'd especially go for the SS if your looking at cars like the 350z...looks like your crazing a sports car, so go with the SS, you won't regret it.
