What would you like to see?
Fuel/Engine Management, Twincharged would be cool...
Im not a SS owner, but If i was, I'd like to see some headers/dual exhaust (not rksport), test pipes,
Mostly, computer stuff, tweaking the comptuer is the best thing for new cars.....you can do it all.

all i wanna see is.
I think its great that you want to keep the car as stock as possible and streetable thats an amazeing idea. if i could do what i want with my car(be like you) i would like to see a low 13sec SS that can run that consistant. also it would be cool if you could drive it around all day than simply go to the track swap the tires and run that low 13. good luck with the car i look forward to your updates.

taking me seriously or not is your choice. i dont want a parts list because i know how to do the stuff...just want to know what you guys want to see. if all you want are more parts available then dont expect me to get them for you. sorry.

would you guys like me to try for the LS instead? That might be an easier sell to the owner considering the lower cost. Figured that more people would like to see an SS modded out though. Let me know guys.

Strictly from a financial standpoint, the dealership is going to sell way more base and LS cobalts then they will SS Cobalts. If in fact that is what they are trying to do, it would probably be better to do it to a 2.2. But, the thought of a heavily modded SS/SC does paint a very pretty picture!

But as far as what I want to see, someone is already doing. I want the second main "power-adder" to be a nitrous kit. I think twin-charging is nice but most people including myself won't want to spend the extra $3000 or more to get that sort of setup when they could get a nitrous kit for under $700 and be able to tune it almost as easy as if they were dialing their boost on a MBC.
If you looking for what I want. Grab the SS/SC, throw a nitrous kit on it, show me and everyone else here how to tune it as far as fuel and timing. Tell us what kind of suspension/wheel setup is best to use for drag, and then finally be honest with the times and dyno results.
well since i dont know how to start a poll on this site....i guess these are the options as it sits right now.

I guess those are the options we can take with the Cobalts. Now that I look at it theres a lot more potential here than with my Cavy. LOL. Maybe I should just buy a Cobalt and pay with it too.

I find the LS Turbocharged and SC/SS Twin Charged interesting ... I'm a bit confused thou on what actually it mean's SC/SS Twin Charged could you elloborate for me please. ? Cause doesn't the SC/SS already come with a SuperCharger built in. ?
Appreciate any info in advance. Thanks

Twincharged is basically adding a turbo to the engine, on top of the Supercharger already there. Turbo and Super, twin charged.
I think personally I'd love to see a twin charged setup that works well. I think I'd really want to go that way with my SS s/c, so my vote is for the twincharged SS

twin charging, although long debated as to its usefulness, is a way of adding the benefits of a supercharger and a large turbocharger. the supercharger is used for the initial start of the motor as it gives boost immediately when you give it gas. this in turn helps spool up the larger turbo bringing it into its efficiency range of boost. you will typically see these setups run 10-15PSI out of the supercharger and 25-30PSI from the turbo. you would assume this would make a car running 35-45PSI but what you really get is a car pushing 30-40PSI as the supercharger looses efficiency higher up in the RPMs. it is designed to do this. it will max out long before the turbocharger maxes out so it will never make both run at 100% at the same time.
the best example, locally, i know of is a twincharged mustang 5.0 that runs 9sec 1/4 miles and pulls 49PSI when both units are working optimally. of course that car is using a centrifugal supercharger instead of the standard GM style but the theories and use applies the same.

14 psi on stock pistons in a cavy? I find that hard to believe, I had a z24, and you couldnt run anything over 8-10 without changing the internals, i was also a member of jbody.org, i was going to turbo mine, but i decided against it, and went out and bought the ss, from what i learned, even 10psi on stock internals was pushing it............ I dont understand how you can say you dont want parts list, all these guys have done is tell you what they want to see done to the ss/sc and see the numbers......... all we all want is a little R&D, before we all go out and spend all this money..... you came on here, stating you wanted to know what we all wanted to see, we want to see power, and higher numbers, and lower times in the 1/4 mile....... i just dont get it

by injected i meant nitrous injected as that was mentioned by someone else.
ok final time guys...this is an example of what i am looking for. remember that i have to present a case to the owner to even get him to give final approval of this project. if i cant convince him then nothing else matters.
these are the stats i gave to my sponsors when i was going after them as far as goals.
-12 second 1/4 mile passes
-300WHP
-stock motor internals (until breaking)
-stock clutch (until damaged or rendered useless)
-times reached on slicks with a drag radial back up
thats the kind of things im looking for. without specific goals i cannot even begin to show him the interest in the project is there. one benefit could be more parts available as we would probably need to get some made but this is not a guarantee. it may just be us slapping a turbo and bigger injectors on and running it till it blows...just like my car. need to know what would be the best in the eyes of the community.
if you dont believe me about my internals you can come out here and tear my motor open. ill charge you the NHRA protest fee (believe its like 300 or 500 now for a motor internal protest) and you can see for yourself. same with the clutch.
thanks for adding the poll for me.

alot of eco's have been run with over 10 psi , on 100% stock internals , there was even 1 guy that ran over 20 psi on his and it ran out of fuel in the low 20's , but he ran a constant 15-17 psi on it for over a year
the 2.4 twin cam , once you get close to 10 psi you either gotta have a great tune , or its on the edge of blowing , ive lost a 2.4 twin cam in my 97 cav cause the idiot that i let use it to proto tpye his system with , put a turbo with a 15psi waste gate actuator , with out telling anyone , and i only has the fuel mods to support 4-6 psi
the eco motors are alot better , and will handle the boost alot better than the 2.4 twin cam or the ohv motors
