what year of cobalt ss should i get?

im new to the web site and i was wondering what year of the cobalt ss supercharged would be a good vechile for me. Im a U.S. Army soldier in Iraq. I've test drove a 2.2L ss without a supercharger or turbocharger. Currently my wife drives a 2005 cobalt sedan and i got more miles driveing that then she ever did.

Well there aren't many differences between 05-07s. Only differences are steering wheel, headlights, rims, etc. But the performance aspects are identical. BTW, a ss/na is 2.4

The steering wheel is different for 07 , i don't know about better looking. G85 with recaro seats will be easier to find in 05 or 06. only a handful of 07's had them.

new problems

now that ive seen some of the opinions ive discovered a new problem. Bewteen a 2007 cobalt ss and a 2010 chevy camaro v6 model. Both are the same in price but the camaro comes basic with a six speed tranny. alot of my fellow soldiers say i should get the camaro.

Camaro's are nice if you don't have bad winter's or can afford a winter car . If you cant then the SS cobalt's are nice cause you can throw a set of tires on it and be good to go. I had a 95 Z28 from 96 till 04 and it didn't move in the snow.

If you can find a camaro for 24K I would get it. So far every one I have seen here is an SS, I did see a RS but it was already sold sticker price was like 28 they sold it for 35....I thought about trading in the Caliber for a Camaro but I refuse to pay over sticker price for any car period.

The G85 package IS LSD. In 05 and 06 the package came with recaro seats and was a 1500 dollar option.

In 07 they used up their remaining stock of Recaro seats early in the production year , then removed the seats from the package and dropped the cost to around 500 bucks. An 07 with Recaro's from the factory are few and far between.
