Whats the Difference B/T Filter and Intake?
What is the difference betweent the K&N Filter and a CIA? I want to get a Intake but I have a membership with a car wash and they have the Underbody wash. And i dont want the intake to get wet. Are these two things basically the same thing? Im leaning towards the filter. What I really just want is an increase in MPG, and for me to be able to hear the SS when I step on the gas. Will it be the same sound as an intake or a little bit softer sound?

The filter is just that a filter to drop in the box.
The CAI (Cold Air Intake) is a whole intake system. Filter should be included.
As for the car wash, as long as the splash guards are on then you should have no worries.

But are they the same thing, besides one adding more HP than the other?

No they are not the same. A filter is going to go into your stock box, and it will be a closed system. Ypu will also still have the restrictive tube between the filter and the throttle body. If you get an entire intake, you will get a less restrictive tube, with no air box, just a cone filter at the end.
