Whats left of the balt

well guys it happened tonight about 1 am. Car pulled out in front of us and we couldnt stop. We were going about 40 - 45. We were rding next to another car and he serrved out of the way and this van that ran the red light we hit his side by the back tire. The van had some borken windows and a craked axle in half and the whole wheel came offf. The balt is a complete loss. Bumper is gone. headlights are gone hood engine everything in the front is a huge crumple of meetal. The interior dash and crap is messed up too and the sunroof popped out tooo. So in all terms the cobalt is a complete loss. it was an 06 and we had only made one payment on it. i think we are getting orange for our new balt instead of black. My wife has a sprained ankle and some bruising cuts etc. And i have a closed head injury and some cuts bruises etc. I'm going to the car place tomorrow where they towed it and ill take pics. But the engine came through the firewall i belive and both airbags deployed. I'll post pics tomorrow. and i think orange is our new color.

thats all the pics so sad!!!!!!!!

Shitty about the car, but good to hear you and your wife were able to walk away. Metal, plastic and rubber can be replaced.

Sounds like the Cobalt did a pretty good job of protecting you guys. And as the others said, it's just a car. Glad you are ok.

Wow, glad the cobalt provides some protection.

Will you get another?

Can you buy it back to have as parts salvage? take the motor and transmission and sell the rest off. Then build up a motor to be installed in your new cobalt. that sort of thing.

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully things work out in your favor and you can get yourself a new cobalt with the insurance payout.

Well now we know how well the Cobalt does in a real life collision. Glad to hear that everyone walked away with only minor injuries. Good luck with the insurance company.

If the van is under his mom's name, then your lawyer will probably go after her since she is the owner and it seems that he doesn't really have anything and lacks insurance.

yea the car is in moms name which is a good thing for us so we can get our tint car alarm dgital camera everything paid for along with car rental car eeyrhting after discussing it more their was no time to even push the brakes so it has about 40 to 45 hitting a car which may seem slow but at those speeds a alot of damaged ocured. tjhe coablt protected us pretty good the cobalt didint fair to well but airbags in youre face isint too fun either and thanks for all the supporting we are goingin tomorrow to see the car in daylight for the first time and take pics

Glad to hear that y'all are ok. If their insurance does pick it up and you have the right lawyer your new cobalt could or almost be completely paid for. Good luck.
