When to trade in?

Ok, I will be honest. At the time I bought my car, my job was not bringing in much money so I signed for a 7-year loan on my '05 Cobalt (purchased June '05). My new job pays great, but I am still stuck with the 7-year loan. Payment is automatically deducted from my account, so it is kinda hard to make double payments or anything.

What should I do if I want to trade my car in in about 3-4 years or so and not lose my ****? How long should I actually wait to trade in? NEED HELP!!

keep checking the blue book value. when it either meets the price you owe on the loan or is less that is when i would sell it.

Umm Im pretty sure ANYONE wouldn't mind an early or extra payment. I was told I could make extra payments. You might want to check with where you got your loan. Seems kinda : / to me.

You should be able to set up extra payments with online banking. Then you can do it from home--easy

What blue book value should I check (retail, trade-in, or private party)?

You can refinance, for a lower payment, then double that payment. Plus you'll usually get a lower interest rate. That's what I did with my cobalt. It's working out great too!

Go have it refinanced

Call your banker, find a good rate, compare rates, and refinance your car, which will raise your payment but you can choose years, plus you might be able to get less interest

Great idea!!

I just bought a used 05' Coupe with the Sport Package with 22,000 miles on it last week and I gave $12,250 for it. But of course that is wholesale since I am a new car dealership. Doesn't make it right but....
