Where does the jack go in trunk?

Hello,

the person who owned my cobalt did not put the jack back in when it was sold so ive been running without one for awhile.

Anyhow i picked up one today and was wondering if it just sits on top of the spare tire (rim part facing down)? There is a hole in the jack that the screw fits into. Thats where it seems like it goes but just wanted to double check.

I think it goes down on top of the spare tire and then there is a bolt that goes through it so you can tighten it down

turn the jack on its side. The large rod goes through the middle of the jack and tire.

You laughed. If you didn't, you have no soul. That should be obvious since you impaled jack on a large rod.
