Winter Preparation

So winter will be coming soon and its about time to get my car setup for it! Last year i bought my car in December and went the whole winter on the stock pirellis.... Bad idea. So this year i am def going to be getting winter tires.

I'm looking at getting steelies and winter tires, nothing too extreme. like i dont need blizzak or winter force just something to get me by. Anybody know of some decent tires and a place to get both those and steelies?

tirerack.com, ask at your local garage. But don't ask the stealership, they will rape you! If you were here I say just go to Canadiantire, and get a set of goodyear nordics. If you have anywhere local that sells winter re-treads, I had a set of those and they worked great. Look in your yellow pages for tire dealers and see if they have a website. Basically just look around.

Cool I was planning on using tire rack. Does anyone know of a good tire or size of rim and tire I should be looking for?

The shop I'm dealing with is holding 2 options for me until I get the car...

Option 1: A set of BSA 264s in 17". The guy typically deals with Porsche/BMW/Mercedes/Audi, and swears he'll have SOMETHING in our bolt pattern that will clear the Brembos on the SS/TC. I'm still skeptical, but no sense writing the option off until I can try and mount the wheels.

Option 2: A set of 225/40R18 Nokian snow tires mounted on the stockers. Swedish made snow tires; we've had them on our 05' Altima 3.5SE for a while and swear by them.
