wipers?

can anyone recommend a good brand of wipers that i can put on my car? my stock blades sucked so i went out and bought a set of rain-x blades, which my step-father recommended but they seem just as bad as the stock set i had. those were always catching on the window and making that annoying dragging sound [even in the pouring rain] and streaks everywhere. the new set doesn't streak as much but the dragging sound is still there and it's driving me crazy

Mopar wiper blades from a chrysler dealer, good quality, and if you keep the recipt, you can warranty them under 12mo/12k if the dealer installs them, ususally free. And yes, they will fit a cobalt!

I think teflon wiper blades are the way to go. They never make that rubbing sound and are just amazing.

I know people won't believe me, but the factory ones are the best. I've only changed them once in two years and 45K miles, and I ******* HATE less than perfect wipers. Normal people would still be using the stockers I took off. In fact, the guy who's car they went on probably will never know the difference.

Best deal in town on wipers: Swing by the dealer and swap yours with a set on a brand new Cobalt. Thats what I did.

lol that doesnt sound like a bad idea but i bought my car brand new and the wipers have always been rather crappy. there isn't even 10K on it yet.

thanks for all the input guys! i'm gonna do some shopping around again tomorrow. i just figured that hey, my step-father likes rain-x and he's a mechanic so they must be good but i guess not, at least not in my opinion.

my stock ones have been great so far, actually the best wipes i've had. i bought a set of bosch wiper blades (least thats what i think they were) back when i had my z34 and they were pretty good too. seems like you get what you pay for with wiper blades.

Clean them. They only make noise becasue they are dirty. Take a wet towel or something when washing the car and wipe them down till you get very little black coming off. Makes them work like new again.

Put Rain-x on the windshield and you won't even use your wiper blades. The water just beads up and runs off.

Im going to have to second or third Bosch Icons. Get them at autozone. The Bosch premium blades are good too. Ive tried rain-x, Valeo, and Bosch in the past.

Also like mentioned pick up the Rain-x fluid as well.
