Turbo because you can have a really powerful car and have it still be streetable because the boost takes forever to build when you have a huge turbo on a 4 cyl (or 6 cyl for that matter) -see 1000+hp supras.

Honestly now its all about preference. If you don't want turbo lag get a blower. They both need all sorts of piping and oil lines (unless you have a self contained unit) and they both cost butt loads of cash. Turbos are more streetable when you get to big power because of turbo lag. If you look at your average 1000hp supra's dyno chart youll see that the power doesnt go over 200 until about 5000rpm. Whoever brought up the fact that turbo cars need turbo swaps anyway overlooked the fact that supercharged cars are the same way. Once your pulley gets so small youll start boosting at idle and youll never be able to get the tune right; then you have to get a bigger compressor (supercharger). I'd never say that one is better than the other, it's all about preference. For my cobalt, I'd turbo it. My old camaro on the other hand, I wanted to supercharge it.

but i got the definate impression from 2 different reviews so far that the 300hp that the ugly fridge is gonna pound out is just about all your gonna get from the bitch without tearin her down.

then again.....when your sitting at 300....i guess you dont need to worry to much about getting more hehe

supercharged is the way to go unless you have plans to go faster.

supercharger is nice for all around expecially autox, where as turbo is for guys who push for big power for drag. personally i think its easier to mod a turbod car just cause u can swap turbos so easily, where as we can only go so far with the s/c on pullies and then eventually if we want more power we have to swap blowers.

That statement sounds like they are referring to the motor itself, rather than the turbocharger.

Actually that isn't really true.

The size of the turbocharger means nothing, it's the amount of PSi they are pushing and the CFM created per PSi.

So lets make up some numbers...

Say that if they are using 10 PSi to create 300 HP, that turbocharger could run past it's efficiency point at 15 PSi.

The size doesn't really matter, it's how much air it's creating.
