Just took my car to the dealer to have the hood repainted because some jackass chucked an egg at me on my way home a few weeks back. But anyway, since my insurance covers me for a rental, they gave me an 07 Cobalt LS sedan. My god I didn't realize how different a base balt is compared to an SS. No power options whatsoever, so it feels weird. Plus I can't play my mp3 CD in this one so that's bothersome too. To top it off, it's an automatic. Yay. No offense to anyone here who drives an LS, but honestly, you guys are missing out. It's like they took the "good" version of the car and ripped all the fun out of it. Oh well, good thing it should only take two or three days to fix my car.

 

lmao, man the ls owners are going to love this post. but i feel your pain. my wife and i had to bring our ss/sc in to have our bumper fixed, the dealer gouged it before we bought it. anyway our rental was a 2 dr ls. omfg, it would not get out of its own way. atleast it had ac! now i am not knocking you ls cats, i want one bad myself, i would like to do a turbo project on one something fierce. but what it did make me realize the ls models without boost are amazingly slow. so mod them all you want to, and on a good day you might get me, providing my car stalls or something, bu tyou are missing out. so in the future dont pull that oh the ss guys are so stuck up crap, and i wont knock your car for having 150 hp with mods. now after my smack talking, if its not in the cards for you to get an sc, thats fine. busting someones ***** cuz they are broke is beyond screwed up, so thank you for buying a balt and not a v tec or something. if it makes you feel better i cant afford mods cuz i got the sc. lol

 

i got stuck in a base 2.2 4 door also...... didnt even have keyless...... such a base car it wasnt even funny, also... EVERYTHING rattled, exp with the music on, the door handles for the windows sounded like they were gonna fall off onto the floor..... again i had a bad exp with a 2.2....

 

2.2s are FTL. I had one as a rental as well. 4 door, extreme base, nothing power. Slow.

 

lol, i dont even know where they found these cobalts. i figured every balt would come with some kind of option. funny how chevy puts us in these truely base balts to minimize their cost when we just bought the highest model of balt they offer, ********, lol

 

I don't understand you people. Always having to knock people that don't have the SS models. I don't think thats very fair for us. We have almost the exact same car without the boost. Personally I think it's very inconciderate of everyone that disses people's cars no matter what model they have. I may not have a LS or base model, and I do have all power, but seriously people ... grow up and have some respect.

 

sounds like you guys got a bad ls, mines been fine i got it for good gas mileage and im getting that 37 mpg

 

not FTL... rental cars for FTL. you got an all manual 4 door sedan cobalt. hell i would call that thing crap. personally. i have some pep in my engine, and enjoy my ammenities. Do I have a supercharged engine.... no.... but my balt does all right on its own. Most of us out here do not have the 13k base 2.2 model. personally... mine was listed at 19.6K

Now lets just all get along and going back to calling them stealerships and making fun of rice

dude read my post, i was knocking but i was going back and forth. and personally if i got an ls or an lt for 19.6 loaded or not i dont know how i wouldnt feel like i got robbed. i got my ss for 20, and its obviously loaded because they all pretty much come that way. now the exception is 4 drs, its obviously a requirement to some people, matter of fact i need it. but i cant have both, so i took the hp. and we will always stick together when it comes to rice, so dont worry about that. but us ss boys just are never going to stop talking smack to you guys,

Yeah I had a rental balt with 135 kms on it about a week ago, no power locks/windows but it did have XM radio, it must come with all of the 07's. I wasn't impressed with the power it was putting down but I'm sure its better with a MT. I do have to say it was a nice smooth ride compared to my SS, and the turning radius was pretty nice too.

I certainly agree with almost everything except "We have almost the exact same car without the boost." Don't want to start a post war, but just wanted to make sure that people don't get the wrong info from this site either. Engine, tranny, exhaust, intake, suspension, brakes, wheels/tires, body kit, seats - it's more than just a supercharger that separates the two models.

 

All right this is getting out of control... no more fighting... and freaking flying cobalts? (WHAT?!?!) everyone just go check out my "Rice to the 3rd degree" post and move on.

 

Hey man, I know you're not trying to knock the base balt but you are. For some of us it was the best decision. I go to school and in the winter I go skiing 4 days out of the week and drive from Buffalo to Vermont at least once a month between December and April. I love driving my brothers SS/SC and after school I'd love to get one (possibly will) but keep my ls for the winter. Mine is the base model, nothing automatic. But hell, it's my first car and I treat it like gold.

what the hell is going on. so what, some of us dont have an ss/sc. money is an object, and some ppl dont have enough of it to get exactly what they want. some ppl might not want the higher car payments with the ss, others might not want the high insurance with an ss, and others might just not be able to afford the thing. i have my ls cuz my parents bought it for me a year ago, so im not gunna go and buy myself an ss even though i can afford it. free car FTW lol.

I like my middle-man model 2.4SS. Little bit faster than the 2.2, same creature comforts as the 2.0SS/SC, and gas mileage somewhere in between. 2.4SS's make for a nice neutral country between other countries at war. Kinda like the Switzerland of Cobalts.

 

I don't own a Cobalt, so I'm technically better than all of you LOL

 

2.4 is the middle brother.

 

no body is actually knocking anyone. just some bsing. like i said i would never say some crap like that and mean it. one because i know its a matter of what you can afford, and once again making fun of someone for not being able to afford what you have is rediculously "assholeish" at best. and two, i actually commend people for having the sense to live with their means. there have been plenty of times when i wasnt smart enough to do it myself. hell i just said because i got the ss/sc i couldnt afford any mods. lol. if after seeing that you still feel like "hey thats messed up talking about an ls" then i am sorry. i dont know how to make it anymore clear i am only being sarcastic
