I was thinking about getting the Level 3 kit and I wanted to know if anyone had it to maybe let me in on the pros and cons?

Pros...it sets you up for big power in the future. External wastegate and bov. Sexy intake manifold (I think).

Cons...very expensive. You need a ton of supporting mods to put down big boost.

I have a super20G custom hahn kit. So far making 350WHP with torque maxing at 300 by 4000RPM with just 18psi of boost. still working out the bugs of some of my own customizations though. would definitely recommend the Hahn stuff though.

Did you guys do the install yourself or did you have it done professionally? The reason I'm asking is that there is a shop here that will do it for me, but they don't have just a lot of experience with turbo applications and this car is my baby and my only daily driver.

Nope. Don't let them touch it. It's fairly straightforward but I wouldn't trust anybody but a performance shop to do it if you can't do it yourself. It's not going to be horrible to install just make sure everything is torqued correctly particularly on the exhaust manifold (manifold to header; wastegate to header, turbo to header...at least that's the setup as I remember it).

Well, they do a lot of motor work, I'm just wondering about the computer stuff. They know plenty about assembly of a motor and whatever. I'm just wondering how I'll get it put together assuming I get it here. The area is mostly country.

I'll hopefully have my Hahn Stage V kit here next week, so I'll be posting stuff. Right now I have the Exedy clutch and axles in. The Hahn exhaust is also sitting here waiting to go on.

Right on! Hit me up and let me know how you like it. I'm trying to go for the best of both worlds here. I wanted the LSD on the G85 package, but didn't want to lose the leather and I've found an aftermarket LSD now. Then they released the turbo LNF but it doesn't offer leather, polished aluminum rims or heated seats and my car has all three so if I get the LSD and the Hahn swap, I'll have a little of everything. Also have you guys heard anything about not running over 20 PSI on any sort of pump gas. Someone told me it'll make the car ping. But judging from the source that's half chance.

I bet Hahn will charge you out the ears, but I still wish I had the money to let them do it.

Easy there killer. I look at the Hahn tune as a "canned" tune. It should be different for where you will be driving. The tune for say Colorado won't be the same as a tune for me near Syracuse NY. I wasn't sure if it was a standard tune that they use or one for him to get the car running enough to get him to a tuner to have it dyno tuned. Say what you want, but I look at this the same as some people looked at the ZZP or Intense tunes.

That's one of the bad things, for me anyway. The kit is made for an SS/SC, not an ion redline. I know I can use most of the parts, but the intercooler piping will be different and the tune may be different (seems as if the SS/SC's had different tunes in almost all set-ups). So there is no way I can do a mail order stage 5 kit, I'd have to bring my car to them and have them install it so they can figure out the piping, etc. Otherwise I'd order and install it myself.

What sort of contraption is set up to take that slack out of the belt. I'm going to have to get parts and I don't want to wait another week for more stuff to come in.

anything more to report from the hahn turbo kit swap? I was looking into possibly going with the stage 3 kit instead of twincharging since zzp has been getting some bad reviews about it. any dyno numbers or problems with the kit?

No one addressed that the lvl 3 kit does not include the intake manifold and that it would need an adapter plate?
