See above for dimensions of our core.

Is it possible to tell how much torque this gave you?
And, would it have different horsepower & torque numbers for a Cobalt, as opposed to the HHR?

from the pics I see, the snyapse IC endtanks are not as well designed as this IC.

They make a sharp 90 degree bend from the piping to the core,

Bill's IC has a nice well designed curve for much better air flow.

Best question yet Bill...why would a stock turbo SS need one?
Larger intercooler volume, within reason, will not cause slow down turbocharger response. In almost all cases, the opposite is true...the lower restriction afforded by the larger core allows turbocharged air to reach the throttle body sooner, and with more flow at all delivery rates. Our Solstice and Sky* LNF customers are impressed with not only the overall power increase, but the low-to-mid throttle improvement as well. The turbo just does not have to work as hard to force air through the core.

Overall the car feels smoother. I associate this with the ever-active boost control system...the little spikes and surges is causes are smoothed out by the additional 'plenum' volume that these end tanks and larger core create.

The additional volume is a sliver when compared to the air ingestion rate of the engine. Keep in mind...it 3000 RPM, this engine is processing 3000 liters of air per minute. That's 50 liters...per second. So if this intercooler is adding 5 liters of volume, it will take an additional tenth of a second to fill it....a virtual eyedropper of air

So, in addition to smoothness and lower RPM increase iimprovement, a stock TC will see a minor power gain of about 10 HP on flow alone...but as my intercooler heat tests show, modified Cobalts can get the stock intercooler panting for breath in a hurry!

And...if one plans to go for it in the future, well...there's no time like the present to get started removing thermal stress from that engine, while laying in the ONLY Intercooler you will ever need, no matter how far you go!

*Note...the stock intercooler on the Solstice-Sky is smaller than TC, so at stock power levels, the relative difference won't be as strong with TC.

Quite the case, as our testing backs up.

You bet! Many happy LNF turbo customers already loving this design

We take great pride in engineering intercooler tanks that enhance airflow. Good design gives free power, and free response improvements!

The tanks are not only curved on the side and front to direct airflow, they are also swept back to further encourage excellent transition, eliminating the 90-degree sharp bottleneck of the stock intercooler. That's why our hose nipple there is so much shorter than stock...it ends in the same position as stock, but the swept-back tank eliminates the longer nipple portion.

^^^ As stated above.

This IC is DEFINITELY larger than the Synapse IC which is only 24x8x3.5. Should have waited for this!!

Thanks! It is indeed a brute, and we engineered it to nestle into the stock location perfectly.

As for price on the Group Buy...let's first detemine a duration for the Buy. I was going for 30-60 days, so as to gather enough people to really nail a good price for you guys n' gals!

Your input matters. Bil Hahn wants YOU to vote for this Group Buy!

Oh no...it takes a bit to gather all the input. Last time we did a Do-It-Yourselves Group Buy like this one, we didn't nail pricing for a week or more.

Let's see what folks have to say...let's talk pricing, quantities...yes, Quantities

Sorry to confuse...things will be a bit awkward until we establish pricing....my method of 'roll-your-own' Group Buy is a bit unusual, but very fun!

We'll do combo pricing too. Everyone, please keep the suggestions coming!

Once we establish the GB parameters, we'll post pricing and start The List.

a reasonable price would be around $375-$450 shipped, the more buyers the lower the number

Well i was looking at pricing for upgrades for an EVO to have some type of idea what they generally run....Buschur racing which have been around for a while has a front mount and piping w/clamps etc for $759.00, so my 2 cents would be do the intercooler and piping w/ couplers at around the same.

T clamps and powder coating extra charge(minimal)

Since it looks like we have a while to wait for this should I get the PPC first? Let me know ........
