another way to reset your oil life %

I figured out another way to reset the oil life % here are the steps:
1.put the ignition "on" position but don't start the car.
2.press the accelerator pedal more than 2 times in a row.
3.your oil life will be @ 100%

Note:When you do this procedure the info display does not need to be in the oil life % can be any where!

Let me if this works on others cars hope this was useful!

just so you all know that works with alot of cars, pretty much every gm car that has an OLM you can use the accelerator to reset it, the only difference is some cars take 5 steps on the gas and others take 3. i work at a gm dealership in the shop so i should know lol.

I know it works because mine reset when I was installing the pedal covers and replacing the throttle pedal.

The other way is to turn the key to run but dont start the car and push and hold the 2 DIC buttons at the same time for a few seconds and release. Then you can fiddle with the OLM, if the horn honks/lights flash with the keyless, and other things. Check it out sometime...

the sad thing is that ive had my oil changed at the dealer countless times (under service contract) and so many times they forgot to reset the OLM. Hell, that could have been done when they got in the car to bring it back to the front... lazy asses... lol

Mike, cool to see you made it here.

Are you up for taking your SS to Lebanon Valley one Weds for street night? I've been going on occasion.

Hey Jamie...

I didn't even go out there for the open.. haha. Epping's only an hour away and a much better track (and quicker) so I'll take it up there in the fall when the air gets good and see if it'll touch the 13's.

Later!

Forgot you were so close to Epping! What's the valley for you, like 2 and a half? I didn't make it up there for the open this weekend either.

You should have the power for 13s with your stage 2 and good air, but getting it to 60' will be the hard part. Tough to find the sweet spot between wheel hop, bogging it, and slipping the clutch too much in these Cobalts.

^ nope, hold the trip button in then start the car or turn to RUN (I believe) and wait until it flashes, let off

if that didn't work, repeat the process and after you release it once it starts flashing, press it again for 5 seconds and let off

if not in your owner's manual, you may have to go to Honda
