once you hit that button it all recirculates anyways.. taking the filter out wouldnt be any different than driving with the windows down right? nothing filters air coming through the window, same Fn thing

I believe the air is still pulled through the filter with the recirc button on too

Since this is already here I will just add my pics. Very easy and cost 10 bucks. Keep your filter, your dash, seats and interior will thank you. Without it your car is going to have a nice coat of dust on the dash and other interior parts, especially is dusty west texas.

cabin air filter is awesome for people like me who have tree pollen allergies. and it keeps all that crap from getting in your air vents...

I normally change mine once a year. Don't really drive the car much so it does not get to dirty.

PREVIOUS OWNER, not me... I have only had the car a month. The PO and car were in NY for 4 years before making her way down here to Texas.

Here's mine:

I didn't get a comparison pic because we can see what the clean ones look like. The low spots/dips in the filter are filled with dirt, dust & pollen. I've had my car a little over 4 years and have put about 50k miles on it. This is the first time I've changed it since I got my car. I can definitely feel a difference in the amount of air that is being pulled through now, at least twice as much as before.

I'm originally from pennsylvania, but I have been in New York at school Since I've gotten my balt, so year a little over 4 years in NY too lol I'm assuming that the previous owner never change it since it only had 30k miles when I got it, but it was registered in either maryland or virginia with the previous owner before I bought it in PA. And the air DEFINITELY smells cleaner than it before i replaced it.

A little off topic, funny you mention all those states. I grew up just outside of Pittsburgh, was born in Cumberland MD. My parents, brothers live in VA. Im in Texas because of the military.
