this larger TB simply max's out whats available as-is.

also the reason why people are giddy over the quicker revs is due to the larger low-TPS air flow and the faster rate at which the engine hits MAX VE, while at a lower TPS then stock thus making 10% TPS act like 30% did on the stock TB (for example only)
Agreed with the TPS....you can tune it though so it acts very similar to stock though...but I don't think i'd say minimal gains. Definately gave at LEAST 5 to the wheels for me judging by the old butt dyno. I mean for 50 bucks, you can't go wrong. Supposedly Rebel gained like 10 whp or something untuned on a 2.8 pullied car I believe. They did a before and after.

Example of TPS, when I slapped it on and just changed the etc scalar, no tuning, the car would hit -10 hg with less throttle than it would with the stock tb. I would be like a 1/4 of the way down on the gas and it would sit at around 0 on the boost gauge. It was EXTREMELY sensitive/touchy...but tuning gets rid of that

i think the most noticeable effect would be the applied and felt "torque" from the larger air flow at a lower TPS.

a car that feels much faster then it actually is type deal.

there are definite gains to be had with this, no doubt about it, and its a DAM cheep thing to do, i was just putting the technical side of things out there so people dident think this was something more then it is.

i'll take a cheep power mod any day of the week.

my kinsler intake manifold will be fitted with one from dan, i could not imagine having a a proper intake manifold with a stock TB.

more or less.

you are gaining flow, but not to the max potential of the new TB, UNLESS the entire intake is port matched to it.

If you still have another one, I'll take one pending what happens on lunch. There's a junkyard in the area I'm going to call first that has one listed for $50.

$50 shipped or plus shipping? Are you in Flint or PA right now?

hey guys. I have the TB from a 4.2 I6 that I bought for my I4 Colorado. It is quite a bit bigger. But I never installed it on my truck because I need a tune to use it.

But now that I am going to be working on my cobalt instead and use my colorado as a worktruck I want to use the TB for my Cobalt. I have a 2.2L but will be doing a lot of work to the engine including a turbo. It is a 2006 2.2L ls and I understand there isnt a good tuning program for it so will this be possible for my in any way?

Not resurrecting a semi dead post, but there is a part of this that I do not understand.

A little creative thinking (for redlines its bolt and go with new coupler for cobalts a trip to home depot for a 3" PVC 90 is about it)

can someone elaborate on what the PVC is for? also can this new TB run intakes for the stock TB, i.e. the injen or fujita intakes?

and whats this spacer plate i read about, anyone have a link?

and can someone explain more on what needs to tune on it to get it to behave more like stock.

curious if theres any other tables that can be adjusted to correct the sensitivity of the throttle.... Be messing with tables and cant seem to get it to stop being jumpy... ive gotten used to the throttle body but others that try driving my car have issues and few other people that have this throttle body have the same problem. Any feed back would be appreciated

Witts car with the TVS had a similar issue...the car was basically undrivable in low gears. There was nothing we could do cept put the stock tb back on. Its a setting somewhere we dont have access too cause even with the original tb u can still feel the jerkiness but the tb isnt large enough to cause the car to go into convuslions like the ls4

I have no idea on what table could be causing it but my money is on its somethign we dont have control of

seems like playing with the idle scaler number might yield some improvement.
