Interior: How to install GM Pedal Covers
Hi guys I just did this to mine today, when i bought my car in february it had the clutch and brake pads already installed but did'nt have the throttle pedal installed, well six months later my salesman called me to tell me the previous owner dropped off a box of parts that had the gas pedal in it so I put it on today. The how to says one 14mm bolt, mine was 13mm and two 13mm nuts holding the brake pedal bracket to the firewall. Then remove the three 10mm bolts for the throttle pedal. The rest is shown in the how-to.Now I have a matched set!
Hello....I just got my pedals put on last Monday! I got my local dealer to price match GMPartsDirect ( got them for around $70 for the auto ) and they only charged me $20 to install them. I am very glad they did it because the break pedal that they shipped with the set the first time was bent and they spent a while trying to get it to fit but then decided to just order me another one and the new one went on very fast since the break pad just slips on. They look very nice but I wish they made a matching foot rest pedal.
Well since they're individual grip pads (instead of the entire piece being rubber like the stockers) I think they help your shoes stay connected to the pedals better. They grip nicely IMO, i've had no problems slipping off the pedals. Thats the main reason why I got them, I was always slipping on the stock ones when the shoes were wet, but the GMPP ones seem to grip better.
I never found the stock clutch pad "annoyingly grippy" but it seems to have a more solid feel when using it, I like it much better.

I was reading this thread, and when RaineMan posted in 2005, they were around $66. Now, GM Parts Direct wants $91. Sucks dude, I don't want to pay that **** for pedals, but I love how they look.
It seems realy shoe-dependant. The toe cap shoes I wear for work feel like it is glued to the pedal when I roll off the clutch, wedging it between the pedal and floor, and making things a bit jerky.
Though, second week with the car (and manual trans for that matter) so what the hell do I know.

I just installed mine, they look great...
i was laughing because when i read it you stabbed yourself...but then i stabbed myself in eyebrow ahahah
just curious..did anyone else notice that the brake pedal cover fits looser than the clutch? its not gunna fall off or anything, but it shifts about 2mm either way

Although an old thread, this is just a note:
IF the two bolts for the back of the pedal assembly bracket go through the firewall, don't panic... All you need to do is have someone go up into the engine compartment, and push the brake fluid fill back toward the cockpit. The bolts will come back in far enough to let you put the nuts back on.
Just an FYI.

Just got mine last week and tried doing the clutch for starters. Doesn't help that I was doing it in a cold 40 degree garage. Would making one or two slits in the corners be a big deal? Don't want them falling off, but it is a nightmare trying to get it entirely on- best I could do before I had to leave was 75% the way on. Gave up for now and slipped my old cover back on. Need to get a heat gun and try it w/ better light and heat.
slitting them shouldnt make them fall off, just don't slit them too much in the corners. Mine were slit slightly when i got them from a member on here, but they fit great, have never fallen off or slid around...i think the heat gun (hair dryer in my case) was key lol i tried without it at first and got NO WHERE lol
How about slitting the corners and using a bit of silicone caulking or RTV to hold them on? You could still peel them off if you ever needed to but it should keep them from shifting

Thanks for tips guys. I was thinking about the slits and silicone as well. I would probably slit only the bottom corners and slide them on from the top. That way, my foot pressure is applied downward and the top (unslitted) would be strongest.
