no the adapters that come with the gauges will not work. you need autometer metric adapter 2278.
as for your question that is autometer phantom series gauge p/n 5727. its a short sweep electric gauge.

any suggestions on installing a mechanical gauge with an oil line going straight to the gauge itself? i was just going to hook up the line to one of the galley plugs on the block...

has anyone installed thier oil psi sender on the side of thier block? i know i saw someone do it but i dont remember who....I have been trying to get that oil gally thing open but its some different kind of allen key its a star i believe and its hard as hell to open i cant get it..any advice???

One thing I would like to add is that you dont have to use the Oil Pressure Sensor port you can just pull off one of the gallie plugs on the head and use that as well it has the same bolt pattern and everything as the oil pressure sensor you just dont have to pull it off. I believe that the gallie plug is a t10 Star you can get the socket from any local auto parts store or Sears. Craftsman is my tool of choice.

Mechanical gauges are ok but you dont want to take a chance on that line coming loose in your car, and oil getting everywhere. Electric is the way to go.

Great write up. I'd like to add an oil pressure gauge to my LNF also but before I replace the stock sending unit I'd like to know if that signal goes to the ECU and if it does what, EXACTLY, is it used for? I'm more inclined to use a different location. Just throwing that out there.

Ok, so I did this same setup on my 2006 ss/sc, also have an interceptor installed, haven't seen any codes. Goin on a week now. Removed stock.

I just did my dual pass and pheonalic spacer. Since I had the intake off, it was easy access to the oil gally ports so I didnt have to disconnect anything. I used the ZZP Oil feed to -4 AN fitting, then a #4 an Elbow and a oil line from Sumit to run to my aeroforce sensor that i mounted ontop of my supercharger shareing the same bolt with that sensor.

Galley Port is inverted Hex. I got a VERY good view of them when takeing off my intake to do the Dual Pass endplate / pheonalic spacer.

Mine is in one of the oil galley plugs under the intake manifold. I did it while I had the manifold off for my dual pass and ZZP Spacer mod

So the autometer and equivalent brass fittings are weak as hell. My Autometer 2278 adapter snapped after hand tight and 1/4 turn while wiggling the wrench off. Look into these to use as your adapter instead. Stainless steel and only a couple buck more than the autometer unit.

so is there enough room under the intake manifold for the sender if its put in the oil galley plug? just doesn't seem like there would be a lot of room. And well will they take heat? I'm sure it gets pretty warm there on a SC car.

It look like it depends on the size of the sender if it is electric.
However, from what I have looked at, the only way your getting it in is if the IM is already off.

I am going to put my senders in the back of the block and slide something like this over them to protect them and the wiring from exhaust heat
