How To: Make your own removable license plate mount
I recently had my bumper holes filled and bumper repainted and instead of destroying a gorgeous bumper or dealing with no front plate tickets, this is the best solution for under $10!!!
Materials needed:
20 inch metal piece from home depot with pre-made holes
2x 5/16x3/4 bolts and nuts
5/16x2 clevil pin universal
1/2 hitch pin
Tools needed:
some sort of cutter, i used a dremel cutter. to cut the metal to length
a drill to drill into the underside of your lip
i then made a 90 degree bend into the metal
then drilled a single hole into the lower lip to hold the 1/2 pin to. You could technically buy two of them to stabilize, but if you continue reading i used somthing else that is safer for the bumper.
once everything is measured to the length that you wanted with proper cuts, i primered the piece then painted it.
i then took the stock mounting license plate and flipped it upside down so that its holding the plate from not falling on the ground (not necessary) and then drilled an extra hole and used the two screws to mount the plate on.
im using the pin as a safety device to hold the plate from actually falling on the ground, i am using double sided stickys (the same that easy pass uses) to actually hold the plate in place.
picture of it mounted underneath
picture of it actually on the car
and picture of the plate on.
if you are at a car show, just remove the safety pin and pull off the plate, put the plate back on when you are ready to leave for the road! all for ten bucks!

i have it about an inch off the front bumper, and i bent it a little foreward 2 1/2nches so that wind doesnt keep knocking the plate into the bumper
