i mean the light rings, not the whole assemblys. like the ones you'd get off ebay. angel eyes light rings. adding them to the oem sealed beam seems easy.. just an idea. =)

very very interesting... I really dont know what color i should get... iwas going to try green, my underglow is green, my map lights i swapped for green lights, and i wantted to get my calipers green.... what does anyone feel about green tint? the cars color is slate metallic.... kinda gun metal....

Also, someone painted the underpart of the light, where the rest of the reflective surface is...
http://www.ecotecforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7842 ..just look towards the bottom of the page.... im thinking about starting this project next week, along with re-darkening my tails, the one reverse light is peeling!

where would you put these angel eyes? would they be around the headlight, or around the turn signal? and can i put any color in there?

OP Did you go with a flat black paint or a gloss black paint?

I'm debating on which paint would look better, any opinions or pics from anyone of a flat black?

Please Help!

I just finished this how-to. I resealed the headlights very, very well I'm positive there is no leaks whatsoever. After installing the lights (tonight) and driving for a while I noticed a little bit of condensation inside the housings in the same spots on both of the lights. There hasnt been any rain or snow or anything so I know they didn't get wet. Is it possible the condensation is there because I installed the lights in a warm garage and then drove in cold weather? If so what should I do? Taking the lens of again isn't an option as I used so much silicone and adhesive that taking the lens of again would be impossible.

bake it, push the lens against the housing as hard as you can. then just add more sealant around the outside. You have a headlight leak my friend, and only way to solve it to reseal

Lol I know I don't have a leak as I used slot of sealant and then two beads of silicone around the outside. I think what hAppend is that I installed them in the warm and then went out in the cold now I'm wondering what to do.

Yah the paint sat for 7 days and I also gave the silicone a couple days toddy as well. This morning all the condensation was gone but now I'm scared that if I drive it again it will fog up again any suggestions?

Bump!

Any other ideas/suggestions/tips on what to do?

if warm and cold temperatures would fog headlights, then people with a heated garage would have their headlights fog when they backout in the winter according to you. Theres rubber seals in the back of the lowbeams, i dont believe the headlights are really ever completely sealed. They have holes in the back with rubber gromets in them to keep water from entering while still letting outside air in and out to equal the temps

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that because I installed the housings in a heated garage when there where no bulbs in so 3 big holes in the back of the housing and then put all the bulbs in which seals evrything up including the warm air (which holds a bit more moisture than cold air) and then drove in the cold where the temperature dropped and the water inside the air condensated out. That's my theory for why this happend. Now I'm just looking for a solution.

Followed this almost to the letter. I've done the oven thing before on J-body headlights, but due to the wife complaining for the next 3 days about the smell I decided to try the hairdryer technique. Worked amazingly well. Took about 2 hours of work with a couple smoke breaks. The job goes really quick with 2 people. One holding the heat to it and the other continuing to pry the lense off, same story with the sealant. We kept shooting the heat in front of where I was picking out sealant and got a good bit of it out.

BTW pm'd mkulrey13 about painting the bottom part of the main reflector and this is what he had to say:

For those questioning painting the bottom portion.

does anyone know if the gm direct paint will stand up to this. is it a special kind of paint, heat resistant or something, and how easy would it be to strip the paint off the headlight after it is painted. just wondering because of the chrome isnt a paint.
