Just replaced my switch a few hours ago.. def. not easy getting my hand down there but the switch sure is there. I took a couple pics to hopefully help someone in the future find it easier.. I could have got my phone down there but it was a little difficult trying to aim it right at the switch.

It's right under that bundle of wires in the center of the pic.

Removing the plug. NOTE: I did not have a 22mm deepwell socket as mentioned in the directions, however a 7/8th" did just fine.

The blue thing, if you can see it, is the top of the plug on the switch

If successful, lights should look like this .. with glare lol

I did this for the first time today when the sun was highest in the sky. Took me 20 minutes. However I recommend you bring a midget so they can get down in there. It was tighter then a virgin. Smh

These directions were spot on! I changed mine out in about 10 minutes... It's not pleasant changing it on a hot car though!

Well I ordered the switch automatically thinking that this was the problem because it seems so common. I replaced it and no dice. Checked the fuse and it's still good. Jumped the 2 wires on the connector and they turned on right away. I'm guessing something that hits the switch on the inside of the tranny is broken. Any ideas?

Fourth gear moves all of the linkages out of the way so that you can access the switch.

On my 05 cobalt LS mine is just inside the drivers side fender. Take the drivers side wheel off and it is the only plug you see on the back side of the transmission, pretty easy to replace once I found it. Replaced it today while I had the wheels off to replace the rotors.
