How to Seafoam a LAP 2.2L
im sure this would work for any 2.2 but Ive got a newer version so i used that for example.
before we get into it im just going to say; yes in rare circumstances this could be dangerous but like with mostly anything car service related there is always a small chance something could go wrong.
you should always do your research and use your own judgment on what you want to do and dont want to do to your balt, or any other car. other people opinions and experiences are a good thing to listen to and consider but in the end its always your choice.
and on that note every car will be different so im not responsible for any damage you might cause..
i have no complaints about it personally, i was a goof and haven't done a service like this for the past 80-90k so if anything bad would have happened im sure it would have happened to me, carbon build-ups going where they shouldn't have and all.. but i had no issue and the car runs way better now, also i put a quarter of it in my gas and the other 3/4 i put in the intake.
first off i went for the vacuum line with the seafoam in a glass jar. i took the line off and put it on backwards so i can stick one end in the glass jar to suck out the sf (seafoam). now when allowing the vacuum line to suck in the sf. you have to make sure you dont choke it so do it slowly making sure its only consuming a little at a time or if your good with understanding the sound of the way your motor idles try and go by that, you'll hear your rpms starting to fall a bit and thats when you want to back off a bit.
here are a couple pics for visual aid 8)
after youve finished off the seafoam from what ever container you have it in take the line off and put it on the right way again and let it run for a minute then shut it off to let it soak in all the gunk. after 5 or 10 minutes turn your car back on and it'll start a bit rough but it will start.
after that rev up and let the **** burn ;D oh and try and be considerate to your neighbors.. the stuff isnt the best smelling stuff around and there is a good chance you will probably smoke out the street :P
anyway hope this helps, and happy foaming!

Man I wish this thread was here a month ago!! It took me forever to find the right hose! The brake booster and this one are basically the same. This one however is more centralized to the cylinders. It will more evenly distribute the seafoam. Plus its A LOT easier to get to!
