All Engines: Howto Access Timing Case (Cam Install Also)
Howto Access Timing Case (Cam Install Also)
You will need
18mm socket
13mm socket
10mm socket
You will need to hook an engine hoist to the front circle hook
Unbolt the 3 bolts on the engine mount left side of engine
Then you are going to lower the engine down slightly and remove the mount from the side of the motor
When it is dropped down take off the cam cover bunch of 10 mm bolts and take it off
then use a wrench to secure the cam socket
when it is secured put a socket on the crankshaft pulley remove it
then you want to remove your cam sprockets
once this is done remove all of the 10mm bolts on the side of the motor right under the head, there is also 1 13mm bolt
once done remove the side panel
you now have access to the timing case there is no need to pull the motor for this
If you want to install new cams just remove the cams from the top
