The only thing you need to do is pull the wheel well liner back and undo one bolt and one pin. Then just pull the silencer out. put the liner back in place and you are done. I had my car up on ramps to change the oil, but it can be done on the ground if you turn the wheel all the way to the right.

just did it. Took all of 20 min lol. Cut my pinkey but other than that it was fairly smooth. I just got a saws-all and chewed the silincer to peices rather than try and wiggle it out of there. Throttle response is better but I don't notice a differance in sound... I have a megan exhaust so it may just overpower the induction noise

just wanted to update and say after driving it around, Iv noticed my shifts are quite a bit smoother due to the quicker throttle response. I really like the way it makes the car respond

I just did this mod and i gotta say i can notice a difference as well. But holy crap took me an hour and a half to do it of course it was night out. but no excuse! i didnt have to take off the liner to do it, just bent it very carefully and barely got to the pin. i used a knife to seperate the clip apart then pulled the plastic pin out, it was really freaken hard to get to that bolt in the front but after maneuvering and adjusting i finally loosened it then undid it by hand. All in all great, cheap, easy, fast mod.

I serached the thread, but has anyone done IAT logs to see if the intake air temperature is significantly altered by this mod? True throttle response may be faster but if you're sucking in warmer air you may not be making more power.

Just did this mod as well, very happy with the improvement in throttle response and sound.
I also had to take the fender well cover off like most people. Not sure how anyone managed to do it through the headlight hole alone without using a hack saw....

easy mod. didn't take tire off either. didn't even take off my splash guard. took me about an hour total only cuz i also replaced my blinker bulbs to chrome to get rid of that stupid amber glow. and no, it doesn't screw with your MAF sensor and i don't see any reason why your check engine light came on. sounds alot better and theres definitely a better throttle response.

Yeah...I just tried this and was suprised that it did anything at all.....I have done mods like this on other cars and not noticed anything and the sound wasn't good....but did notice a little extra kick and the sound is pretty good....this is a good hold over mod b/f an intake

all you have to do is pull the pin out thats near the wheel well that holds the silencer in the back and push the plastic splash guard towards the wheel to pull it out. thats what i did

I just did it today on my 09 balt, took about 25 mins from start to finish, the fender well bolts are a 7MM, and you need a 10 and a flat head to get the one bolt and plastic push pin out, very easy, I did it from the bottom, so simple to do, and makes a huge difference at 3000+ and really hear it at WOT

Just quoting myself, has anyone done logs of the IAT's?
