Just started eyeing up this upgrade, I really should of stuck to one vendor when buying my parts lol. Injen upper charge pipe modified to have an HKS BOV, Mpx IC, ZZP Lower w/o MAF relocation, Trifecta tuned. All the parts needed to be fudged a little to get them to fit... So now that I've strayed off topic enough, it looks like I will have to get a ZZP upper charge pipe and hope I can fudge it to fit my IC. I have a shop by me that can drill and weld another HKS flange on so that's no big deal.

The ZZP pipe will fit your intercooler. With the couplers they include, the pipe has a lot of free play to work with since the long couplers can be adjusted without much trouble.

I'm using ZZP's 4.45 gearing transmission. I know quite a few are just running the stock trans with a new clutch. I'd just tune the car conservatively so you’re not making more than 400 torque.

Also this turbo doesn't spool until 4500rpm and is throwing underboost code. After it spools the car is a rocket! Is this a tune issue because of my k04 tune that I'm still running or wastegate adjustment?

Here is a better picture of the hose/wiring setup based on the questions I regularly get. The rear nipple is not used and it’s not a big deal to leave it open.

As far as reliability goes, I have not had any trouble with the turbo or engine. 400 WHP is plenty for a front wheel drive car for those that think they need 500+ WHP. You won’t be able to find any street tire that’s going to be able to grab the road much past 400. It's rare I find any car on the road that I'm not able to zoom around even if they downshift and try to prevent me from doing so.

True statement.... I don't even downshift to 3rd unless I absolutely have to . What charge pipe coupler are you using ? Zzp?

Yup- it needs to be left open or ran back to the intake. Make sure you don't plug the back port. It is there to vent pressure away from the canister. Plugging it will reduce boost and impede the ECMs ability to control boost.

Anyone have any problems with the K&N SRI intake staying on the turbo? I pushed mine in the coupler the whole way, but every 3-4 pulls it pops off regardless how tight the clamp is and it's getting quite annoying.

Get ZZP’s 4.45 transmission and you won’t have to worry about it lol. Yes, I have their longer coupler for the turbo and their charge pipes as well.

And as for the odd K&N coupler issue, that doesn't make too much sense to me. That's the compressor side where air is sucked in. You'll practically have vacuum on that tube as the turbo takes in more air. My best guess is the clamp's face is getting hit by the firewall when the engine pulses back and forth in between shifts. Make sure the clamp is facing towards the engine and not the firewall. There isn't a lot of room back there.

Oh I am not worried. I have dont plenty of 3rd gear pulls....but regular driving downshifting to 3rd is like overkill lol. I can only imagine the pull on a 4.45

3rd gear goes to around 95 MPH in a 4.45. The pull is intense and you really have to have a tight grip on the wheel before you step on it. A 3rd gear pull is for “Hey, I really want to scare the passenger in my car.”

Most of the time I do 4th gear pulls on the freeway so the car doesn’t go sideways from all the torque. You can actually zoom around most cars in 5th though, you don’t even have to downshift at all.
