Ok, there was also a northern one the day after the bloomington meet I set up. And really I didnt set up much, I came up with and idea, no one said anything as for time/day and theres a car show every second saturday of the month in bloomington that I go to so I suggested that.

Its exactly like what I'm doing this time, car show in bloomington, i'm going, invited everyone else. Its not an official meet because last time I tried everyone found some excuse...so until next year I plan no official illinois meets

 

Im from the "Northern" IL area, so that would be perfect.

Maybe we can set somethin up for the Quad Cities?

Let me know, and i'll see what i can throw together.

 

I plan on going to the one Oct 14 in bloomington it is the last TCC show of the season. I think next year we should plan a large IL gathering possibly somewhere central it doesnt matter to me because I am about 2hrs from chicago or St. Louis keep in mind there are cobalt owners in Souther IL who prolly dont want to drive 4-5hrs to nothern IL for just a meet.....

 

yea def. im in the process of moving, getting my last year of school goin, and getting ready to leave for vacation. my range right now is as far south as Tinley, up north to like Gurnee or so. and of course my Chi. Thats about a 90 min north/south drive, so hopefully something will be set up in there so i can go!

 

We could set up a cruise here at the shop. We have a big lot, you could check out the showroom, and hey, we are in an industrial park... What you do pulling out of our lot is none of my business

We are located in Spring Grove right off Rt. 12. Damn close to you guys in CL and Round Lake.

Actually I think meating at Massive speed would be cool then go for a cruise up north to like Lake geneva or something if good weather.

well tinley area is good for me, i like the bww meets they are always good with large groups, but the parking situation at that one bio sucked. so i dont know about that one again. is there any others in between you and me? there is one right off of 355 in bolingbrook that we had a cobalt meet at before and they got a nice big parking lot it turned out good and its brand new. but i dont know if your willing to drive there, its not far from me not sure about from you

this sounds like a very good idea//// just a simple meet and hang out there maybe drive out for lunch or just some basic burger king and bring it back to the lot.... just wondering what is your "shop" the site dosent tell much it looks new.... do you have any balt parts? would we get a discount if we bought some stuff from your directly that day?

 

Well, that happens when about 80% of the Illinois people are here in the Chicago area.

It'll be hard to set up a statewide meet when so many of the people are clustered at one end of the state (and yes, I realize Bloomington is only like 100 miles right down I-55, but most of the younger guys think that's like going to the moon). I hope I don't sound mean, but its probably a fact of life.

BTW Do you live in Peoria, or just go to school there? I went to Bradley for 3 years, so I "did my time" there LOL. I'm getting a craving for an Avanti's Gondola (with mayo) right about now...

 

i started this thread, so im not turning any meet into a chicago area meet, i was just asking when the next one was, and possibly setting up our own, me and bio cuz we are in the same "area"
