Iowa Speed way dragstrip ( Newton, Iowa )

We need to get more balts at the track on drag night as I was the only one & man my times sucked as this was my first time ever to drag legally on a track you think your good till you race someone who has done it alot

E/T 9.939
SPD 71.23
RT 1.179
60' 2.523

Now to get exhaust, better motor mount & learn how to launch & I'll do a bit better

Check out the drag dates at www.Iowaspeedway.com and I'll try to post here when they are having them to

i went to cordova ia last night for midnight mayham. there were prolly 10 cobalts up there. it was a good time. two vehicles spilled fluids and oil all down the track. RIGHT BEFORE I USED NITROUS! I had never used nitrous before! lol. my first run without nitrous was almost a full second faster than my next two w/ my spray. I spun through the first 3 gears because of the oil on the first part of the track. BUT! my mph were still faster with n20. I am so pumped to see what my times will be next time. I will be over 110 1/4 mile easy if i can get out of the box better. Pm me with info on where this track is ane when the races are!

May11 & 25

June 15

July 6 & 20

Aug 3 & 17 & 31

Sept 7 & 14 & 28

OCt 5 & 12 & 19 & 26

If you race you must have pants not shorts. the tunel opens at 5pm & the races start at 6:30 after you tech your car & sign a waver.

$10 to spectate $20 for car & driver and your spectater can ride but they have to sign a waver at tech & get a wrist band to ride.

I hope to see more balts there

So taht was you! I wondered if you were on here. I was the black balt that was parked in front of you in the staging lanes asking about you nitrous and such. Everyone of the SS/SCs were slow on Friday.....it was kind of sad. Hopefully next time will be better.

Actually, I may end up lowering it at some point. Probably strut bar, exhaust, tint, eyelids and painted taillights are really the only things I have in mind right now. I'm more show and my husband is more go.

I ran a 475 HP Camaro & a stock late nintys Camaro, I only ran twice as I had to be at work at 4am Saturday morning & it was going to be 930 or 10 before I got home.

I figured out I just over powered first both times so next time I'll race for traction in first & then nail it from there Plus my reaction time sucked as I waited for the green light & then took off & now I learned next time I will wait for the last yellow & then take off as that will help to lower my reaction time

I'm running a 2.85 SC pulley & I think I will make a couple more passes & then put the 3' back On & run a couple passes & see it that helps first or dropps the over all time at all.

The first race I could not even hear my SC as that 475 Camaro had headers on it & it was loud!

What sould a good 1/8 be on our cars ???

As for times I found this
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/drag-racing-52/official-cobalt-1-8-mile-list-me-lol-31536/
Look like your in his top ten in SS/SC Modded

Newton is about 100 miles from Cedar don't know if I can make the entry deadline.

well another great night of drag racing last night, I ran another Cobalt 2 times & smooked him but it was fun as I raced a sc Grand prix & I should of had him but I missed second & that short heartbeat was his win

I ran several cars, lost a couple & won 5 it was a blast as I'm learning to launch alot better my best 60' was 2.37, best speed was 76.50 in the 1/8.

we need more Balts there to represent this site guys so come on out & play!!!!
