nice. when my dad used to live in buffalo ny as a kid. they would go as fast as they can on their bikes and plow into the snow banks trying to see how far they could get.

Thoughts/Opinions needed...

I'm coming up on the million mile mark on my car. (92k now) And want to do a bunch of maintenance ****, because I'm going to be bored over Christmas break when I'm back in town. I got to perusing the How To section and I've started to compile a list of what I thought might be a good idea to do, so I was wondering what you guys had to say about it...if it's necessary or just me being too cautious...

Change Transmission Fluid
Supercharger oil
Fuel Filter (I need to do this, since I've had the car over a year and 30k miles without doing it yet...yikes)
Coolant flush

Brake/Clutch fluid-Is that necessary to change?

Anything else I should do? Plugs will be done with my next oil change, they've only been in a few months. Cabin air filter was a few weeks ago.. And Bryan, do you think you could take a look at my car when I get home after Christmas, I have a tick going on and I can't tell what it is. Valve/lifter maybe? I can try and make a video, and post it this weekend.

/long post.

well. first, you're at 92k...soooo...you're coming up on the 100,000..mile..mark...not the 1,000,000..

i would do the trans fluid, coolant.. you can change the brake fluid. since you're at almost 100,000 it might be a good idea. your supercharger oil can be done but really its just gear lube so it may be ok. theres not much maintenance with these cars really..

your ticking noise may be either a lifter falling apart or a timing chain tensioner. tensioner is more of a rattle though.

No, it's not that bad. :lol2: Just a little tick, I was reading in another thread and I read something about a lifter could be causing it. They a pain in the ass to fix? They're cheap,

Valve lifters, cobalt - 2.0l, 2.2l and 2.4l dohc - 2.0L, 2.2L and 2.4L DOHC
05-09 $20.42 $10.62

I'll try and get a video up tomorrow.

yeah they kind of suck. i did all of bryan's lifters a while back. you have to get the gm tool to keep the cam gears in place so the timing doesnt move. then you have to remove the cams and rocker arms to remove the lifters. other than the cams, its a breeze.

Well ****...I'll probably do it at work after Toys 4 Tots is over with. My Gunny probably knows what he's doing, I'll have to ask him.

Oh, and btw. I got a P0326 code this morning... A G35 was wanting to play, so I did. After the third 80 roll ( I know) I got it to pop up. Got home, then a few hours later had it scanned at Autozone, when I left, it went away. WOopsie
