mechanical is my choice, still automotive related in some cases. just didnt want to be a mechanic, so a mechanical engineer seemed like a good choice. if i where you i would do the 2+2 program, go to a comunity college and get your gen ed taken care of for the first 2 years, then transfer over to a university for the other 2 years. its ALOT cheaper and you learn the same stuff.
I am graduating from KU in 2 weeks with architectural engineering. I would suggest architectural because it gives you the option to go into electrical, mechanical, structural, acoustical, or construction management. Since it is 5 years, you never know what you'll be interested in by the time your done. I ended up doing structural, start my full time job on May 20th.
If you do mechanical, you'll end up either designing parts of things or refrigerant/heat pump/heat cycle processes and equipment.
