Official Press Release
MOONLIGHT MAYHEM AUTO ENTHIUSIAST EVENT TO DEBUT IN ARNOLD IN MARCH
Speed and Sound and ITT Technical Institute to sponsor FREE event series kick-off on March 26
February 15, 2010 - Media Outlaws, STLSR and Perfect Sense Communication (“the group”) are proud to present Speed Culture’s Moonlight Mayhem, a series of monthly community-focused car events beginning in March and ending in November. The season will kick off at the Speed and Sound/ITT Technical Institute lot at 1915 Meyer Drury in Arnold, Missouri and offer family-friendly fun, complete with complimentary food and entertainment. The event is a more budget-friendly, family-friendly and convenient alternative to car fans and their families and friends in South St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln County, Franklin County and Jefferson County.
Speed Culture’s Moonlight Mayhem will feature music, burgers and brats, soda and soft drinks, booths from local online forums, a dyno competition and a late-night car cruise. Drag racers, street racers, drift racers, show and shine competitors, car audio enthusiasts and local law enforcement will come together for an evening of community-focused fun and camaraderie. Some of the hottest and fastest rides (and their owners/drivers) in the St. Louis Metropolitan area will be on display and available to answer questions. Local speed shop owners will thrill us with their current projects, as well as what they can offer the everyday automotive enthusiast. There will be a section just for vehicles for sale and other exciting exhibitions are planned. Sponsorship and booth opportunities are available. Speed Culture’s Moonlight Mayhem will also introduce other features as the season progresses: live music, DJs, a chili cook-off and other cooking competitions, dunk tank, BMX and drift racing exhibitions. Right On, a new print and online resource for the St. Louis car enthusiast, will debut at the June event.
2010 Moonlight Mayhem Schedule:
March 26 HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE 27TH!!!
April 23
May 21
June 18
July 23
Aug.20
Sept. 17
Oct. 15
Nov. 12
Future locations to be announced.
The group got together to put on Speed Culture’s Moonlight Mayhem after sensing a change in the direction of other area venues away from promotion of local activities and their participants in favor of the bottom line. “Once you forget who your customer is,” explains Matt McElwrath of Media Outlaws, “you can’t really serve their interests.” “What we – meaning St. Louis-area car fiends – really want, more than anything, is a cool place to hang out and talk about cars.” Local car clubs and online forums are a popular subculture in St. Louis and McElwrath and his partners feel that their interests are largely ignored by the larger venues. “We’re saying ‘no’ to endless lines, forced programs and higher priced Friday night car events,” says Perfect Sense Publishing executive Rob McNeece. “We want to take everything a step further and offer an event and resources that are conducive to networking with our fellow car nuts and Moonlight Mayhem is just the tip of the iceberg in accomplishing that.”

Soon I will be getting a head count together so i can reserve a row or 2 or 3 for us as close as possible to the actual shop. Id like a good turnout of cobalts. I dont care what trim level. I just think itd be great to come together as a community. I know gatewayecotec is bringing some cars. We are planning on this being a missouri cobalt meet. So for those who need information help or whatever feel free to hit me up.
Also for those interested we will probably get a good rate on 3 pulls. It will be affordable!
So if your interest please post up that your interested in going or your flat out in!
