Question About my Experience las night

I have a question. ha I was pulled over for street racing last night. like my second time and my last for a while but we were on southbound 94. had a car behind us but that was it. we rolled from a 40 to about 105. we turned around at o'fallon road and started on our way back to mid rivers mall dr. we were doing the limit on the way back but i started noticing a bunch of cops in the area. so i was like "well im fucked along with my buddy behind me" (he drives an lt1 t/a) so as were in the turning lane a cop pulls behind him. i in front of him. the cop flys by him cuts him off as another officer is taking a u turn to get behind him adn the original officer behind him gets behind me.

COP1 "license and registration please. So nathan do you know how fast you were going? Does your speedometer work"
Me " 60 - 65." (S/L was 55) and yes, Yes it does"
Cop1 " no when you were on southbound"
Me " no sir i have no idea"
Cop1 " Try 100 an other officer clocked you" Ill be back"

Calles me to the back of my car along with my buddy.

They give us a lecture about street racing and tell us to sign the tickets.

My ticket says 94mph

His ticket says Aprox 100

these cops picked us up shortly after racing. some members of my family are telling me this might get thrown out compleatly because it could of been any red and blue car gonig southbound. i didnt agree to anything i was just there. lol but what do you guys think?

thanks for the help!

Yeah that sucks ass man. Cops around here are thick as ever! Hope you get it taking care of! Good Luck! I got pulled over for street racing once last year but I didn't even get a ticket. He asked me what would I do if I had 10 mins left on my shift and I said tell me not to do it again or to tell me to go home. And thats what he did! I know crazy right. And I was doing 97 in a 35. So cops are just no fun and a pain in your ass! LOL

we have a total of 5 cops in my town. but then again its been 104 years since a murder and 23 years since a violent crime. so they are thinned out here. but then again if you get caught doing something in a few days everyone knows about it.

if u wanna play the "it could of been any red or blue car" card, its your word against a cop, judge or D/A will take the cops deposition over yours.

i dont know how they do it where you live, but if possible, plead not guilty, go in to the assigned court date, and try a plea bargaining for a lesser charge, bottom line you have the violation, and theres no room for it being dismissed completely

Huh... interesting.

Take it to court. You will always have a pretty good chance of getting off it with a lawyer in court.

The steep price of the lawyer will be a lot less than what you'll end up paying in the long run.

I agree with your parents.... we have entrapment laws against stuff like that in NY, where the cop must SEE the act and pull you over then and there. If otherwise, I'd be in the same boat as you last night lets just say, cops don't appreciate squealing tires apparently haha.

Actually, entrapment is when a cop tries to induce you commit a crime that you may not normally do. If an officer tries to talk smack to you to race him, that would be entrapment.

And they must be in view. Can't hide behind billboards like in those old cop-motorcycle movies.

Also: Toss'n a lawyer a few more buck in order to keep some points off ur record is a good investment.

That depends on the state. Some states, Florida & New York for example, it is perfectly legal for police to radar you from a hidden or rear position.

Take it to court and in the future do what i do and ask for them to show you the gun to see that it actually shows what they say, they can recall the last speed they just got sounds to me like he may have got the other car but still could have got you when you were doing that speed like you said. Cops are dick's especally where i live so try that next time and also a radar/laser dector always backs up my work when ass hole cops try to lay **** on you.

Around these parts it is ok for them to do that in the dark, but they must have their parking lights on. But the thing that gets me is that they gave him a ticket after he was going Southbound then came back on the Northbound lane. Usually if they give him a ticket its right down the road not on the other side.

It's possible... it was in the opposite direction, of course. Talk to a lawyer... usually free consultations.

Heres a simple solution, keep it on the track. I would have impounded your car if I pulled you over.

I don't get why you're getting a lawyer and trying to get it thrown out or fighting it when you blatantly said you did it. You're going to lie to try to get out of something you did?

Sure... unless you believe that the end always justifies the means.
