Nope. That's on the wife's car. We can talk about the one off my car. Don't forget, you still owe me money.

Yeh, (in my aged wisdom..) I told Connor that either he was getting old or Kim was pregnant to want a wagon! He owned up.

Again, congrats!!

As for parenting... ya learn as you go. It will change your life, but for the better.

For all the utility you're talking about.... Well, as cool as the HHR is there's not that much room. Even the TB may not have enough for what you're looking at hauling. What about an older beater pickup? Then get the HHR so the kid can ride in style!

tuning and just plain stupid

I want to clear up a few things here with you guys..... especially Steve, who I like, but at times want to kick his ass.

First, I may be an old fart, but I am not retired yet. I own a business that, at times gives me a lot of flexibility with my time to work with you, but at other times demands that I respond to my customers. I like working with all of you, both on the cars and tuning.

Now for Steve's lack of finding the time to work his tune, problems with his car and his impatience the other weekend (9/13) before my heading out of town again....

Steve, I had been out of town on business at a large plant and got back Fri. I spent my entire weekend repairing and overhauling a complex compressor and motor assembly for that customer, then had to hit the road Mon. a.m. to get that back on line and do some other work there. Yet, you contacted me Sun. p.m. saying your tune needed to be "fixed". I told you I'd take the time if you came over here, yet you said that I needed to come to you. Well, due to business, I did not have that time. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Now, for issues that you said were related to the tune:

1. Two EVAP purge solenoid failures. Bud, that is a common problem and has absolutely nothing to do with any tune. Period!

2. Plugs and misfires... Bad plugs happen. Even if they "look good" doesn't mean that they are. Evidently that was your problem. No wonder you were getting misfire codes and did poorly on the dyno. Then, what do you do? Replace the plugs with some that are gapped WAY too wide (0.048 to 0.056 according to you). Guess what? That's WAY TOO WIDE and will cause any car to run poorly and misfire! **** happens.

3. Driveablity and hiccups: I told you at the beginning.... Well, you love that "phissshhh" sound of your BOV, don't you? Well, that sound is of already metered air (necessary for the car to run right!) being vented to the atmosphere. Now the computer has a wrong reading and the car will not run right! Forget the sound and get rid of that needless POS. Look at the forums... you'll see the same issue and solution. Either stick with the stock configuration or get one that recirculates.

4. It's like I was waiting for a text from you saying that you had a flat tire because of the tune! Hah!

Tunes that work good don't "automagically" go bad. Parts that fail will screw up any tune and no tune will fix them!!

History:

We first put a tune on your car back on 3/6. We did a short log on the stock tune, just for referrence. That was hitting only about 15 lb. of boost. Loaded a "starter tune"... Voila, 21 lb. boost and you were happy as a pig in ****!! Big difference!! We only got about 18 min. of data past that and only two full throttle pulls. However, police around that area decided to have a ticket writing party and we (wisely) decided to call it quits and look for a better opportunity to dial it in and that we needed to get back to do that. (more on the status of the tune later!)

Fast forward to 7/1, when you were headed to the strip... I saw, based upon the limited time of scanning that there was more room for kicking up the DALs (Desired Air Load, that controls boost). We did that quickly at a parking lot meet, with no data logging. ****, whatever the state was, you did a 13.3 @ 107!! Yet we still needed to spend time dialing it in! No response again.

My "typo" on that update... ****, it was still much above the stock tune and some more than the first one, but not as much as intended. Bottom line... Not a big deal, yet you never got back on that minor issue.

About your tune: ****, all I did was to up the DAL table in the upper end. Any more would take some time. The Hahn intake was throwing the MAF numbers off by about 5 - 6%, not bad, but could be better given the time to do it. The timing tables were still stock, only maxing out @ 11*. Some are getting up to about 17* with good gas and taking the time to make sure that it will work and not get knock. Again, that takes time. Yet you chose NOT to take the time. Your bad!

I take a lot of time collaborating with other known good tuners (but not amateur wannabes!) and even manufacturers, currently working with Continental (formally Siemens) engineers on injector calibration issues and am currently running some protoypes in the HHR. I want to do it right and will work with you (Steve) or anyone else to get it done right. Sometimes that takes some time. If you are not willing to take the time to get your car tuned properly, then your best option may be to just get a "canned tune" from wherever and take your chances.

I WILL NOT just randomly upload a tune from some unknown source. That is just against how I want to tune for your best benefit. Plainly, that is NOT tuning!!

In the meantime... I will work with any and all of you, but you need to understand that tuning is NOT a quick tweak and that the car that just busted your ass by showing you their tail lights may well have been tuned by me!

Finally... "Beware of the Wagon!!"

Hope this f'n weather clears up.....

Planning to tune Joe Schulte in a bit.... well, just a "little bit" slower than the wagon, but then that's my "policy".

If it continues to rain... there's alway "Plan B"... a lady the needs some plumbing work!!

After the events last night, I wouldn't be afraid to name somebody and the fact that they're clearly lurking the forum it might be in your best interest. Officers last night could even attest to the fact that you were confronted and his manner in doing such.

Where I'm from you have a problem with me, you see me, you do not touch my personal property. Once you've crossed that line there is no turning back.

Just shady how it happened, I won't comment further.

I have nothing against their club, but when you post up and eye me down you're not representing you nor your people very well and that's where my previous feelings came from. If you're going to represent a name and others you better do so with great intent and respect.

Scenes like last night don't show neither.

On a side-note, Joe and I got together and knocked my tuning out today...and I'm loving it.

Joe and I were thinking about going out there on saturday, but after dicking around with my car for so long, we chose not to.

And a riddle for the masses...

What do you call a drug addict with no job?

He has a name..., one other person on here knows what I'm talking about.
