i learned nothing from mine. i was shooting off fireworks in a subdivision no one lived in yet when i was 18. i got in my car to leave and 2 cops came at me head on and one from behind blocking the road. they put me in the car and searched mine. i had a cracked open fifth, 6 sealed fifths, and another $200 in fireworks i bought the day b4. they took it all and gave me an MIP

 

haha were you trying to give the cops your location with the fireworks or something?

 

they made a huge deal that i went to another county, but i was 1/2mile from my house. i didn't even remember the fifths were back there, i was saving them for a rainy day

Well i just did the airbox mod, took me 20 min total. Sounds good from the outside but when im driving i cant hear it bc of my exhaust lol

 

i think it meanest when WOT at 3k rpms in 3rd

There is, your "snorkel" or what ever you call it goes down into a 2.25 inch from a 2.5 inch or something like that. Search it up on here, ZZP did it.

Stop being cheap and buy an intake. You can get a used one for like $150 or less.

Just did it, it's definitely more throaty under load, but no HP increase that I noticed. At idle it still sounds the same tho, so I guess thats good. Probably wont put it back in.

Did you have any difficulty taking yours out? Mine had one of those stupid push plug deals on it that I couldn't get out for the life of me. Had to take off the inner wheel well to undo the damn thing.

Definitely gonna have to get a CAI soon tho, after doing this. It was actually kinda fun ripping parts off of my car

Didnt say functional lol, just less restriction and a little sound difference. And believe me I WANT an intake SOOOO bad but i have no money at all...

It was easy for me, ive installed at intake before on a 2.2 (Becca's car) so i knew what to look for and expect, I also have a clip puller that helps alot on GM cars (prolly most cars for that matter) but it works wonders on clips like that one you had trouble with.

 

Any of you all go to the Bakers car cruise/ show in Milford? Should be starting up again pretty soon... I cant wait to cruise out there.
