Remember when I use to throw BBQ's and people use to show up to them? Then I got old and lazy and I quit throwing them?

Time to have a reunion suckers.

That's right, the return of the official XceedSpeed BBQ affectionately known as the XceedSpeed Family Reunion. The fine fellows who threw the Spring BBQ have joined forces with me to make this event officially more officialish.

A lot more details will be coming but we wanted to get the date and location out in the open.

What are the basics?

Date: October 13th 2012
Location: Kensington Metropark - Maple Beach
Time: ​11 AM

Kensington Metropark charges $5 per car to enter the park.
This is a standard Metropark fee and is not related to our event.

What will we eat?

This is a family reunion, that means potluck style.

Hot dogs & hamburgers will be provided.

The rest is up to you. Bring something to share with the family. Whether that means you slave over a hot stove for hours making Grandma's famous chili, or you stop on your way and grab a bag of chips from the gas station.

Drinks are your own responsibility. No need to share, just bring your own.

Will there be anything to do?

Obviously the most important thing is to socialize!

Are there any more important details?

Based on the name of the location, you probably know there is water nearby. If it's cool/cold where you live, it will be colder at the park Dress warm!

Bring chairs! We're in a big parking lot, you'll want a place to sit. Bring a blanket if you want, there's plenty of grass to set up a little spot to chill.


I have questions!

1. Who is welcome? Everyone, literally. It's family friendly, you can bring pets (see question 3), you can bring old people, we don't even discriminate against people wearing skinny jeans. We're pretty amazing like that.

2. Is alcohol allowed? The Metroparks allow beer and wine as long as it's not in a glass bottle.

Please keep in mind that this is a car event - drinking and driving is BAD. If you're old enough to drink you're old enough to make a mature decision in regards to your conduct at the reunion.

3. Are pets allowed? Yes as long as they're on a 6 ft. or shorter leash at all times as required by the Metropark.
