I wonder if im in the mood for a good argurment........Well will see.
First off if it was just the stock stage 2 computer with nothing else changed but the boost cut, Why wouldn't the piston protection, which is of course there to protect your pistons not come in and dump fuel to cool things off? Will start off with that one. My next question to you is why would GM in there right mind put out a tune that couldn't stand some type of tempreture differnce. But will get to that after you're done not answering my first question

Hmmm..... wouldn't that be cause you all have the same garbage TUNE Sorry buddy but getting rid of just boost cut dont fry pistons, Lack of knowledge about the car when tunning can though. OH yeah did he change his redline too which i know he did, which would mean yes more than just the boost cut was changed it just that its always hard to get the full story here on the inter-web in these "Oh noes my motor blew!" threads.

you woulda got away with it too but you should have taken off anything after market before you took it to the dealer. Hell look at me i got over 20 grand in warrenty work so far best believe my car when back completely stock everytime i hit the dealer. Oh we'll thats the way life is. Either you learn from peoples mistakes or people will learn from your's.

Were you running the 2.8 at the time? If you were the cold weather might have leaned it out too much for the stock tune or the 42.5# injectors.

The excuse they are giving you is BS. I would fight them just for the lame reasoning whether it is your fault or not. If they give you logical and legit reason, then I would let it go.

Unforutantly I do... seen some bad **** go down on some cars... and my car was a test car for tunes... and I've seen it do some scary ****, but I do monitor everything so I was able toget out of it in time to save it.... now all is good, but trial and error can be a bit hair raising.

Damn dude...I'm not sure what happened. I wish I would have known the cars I tuned in Maryland were running shitty. I know there is a tweak a few people are using now that the weather is cooler.

FYI - Here are the differences between his (cpraiders)..there are 5. I took off torque reduction and limited boost in 1st gear. I didn't touch the COT. If you would like to review the tune, pm me your email addy and I'll be sure to share (the torque management was zero'd and the boost was limited so he wouldn't spin the wheels).

not when I took my car in... I wasn't expecting them to fix it under warranty... but I didn't expect them to red flag my car for an exhaust and h/e upgrade... so powertrain warranty on mycar is already done... so now its on to bigger and better things

damn, turner ready... gm like to take a hands off approach. kind of like selling you a car, your self tuning it, or a shop. then when it does good gm will back you. like their photoshoots and involment in the grand am, but when the avarage joe tunes and somthing happenes gm plays stupid and blame's you.

Tell me about it, today I got an email from gmcanada inviting me to some promotional website. Anyways, I was checking out the site browsing around, when I get to the G5 GT, then I click on the tuning button.

The only tuning example they had was a an engine swap from 2.4L to a 2.0L from the SS/SC + Stage 2. Yeah, right! Like average Joe is is going to do an engine swap just as fun tune.
